Makes sense I suppose if he’s not going to be here next season, but odd to leave it to the very last game unless there’s been some developments over the past week that confirmed he definitely isn’t going to be here Or he could just be injured
Chelsea have already confirmed that he will be returning initially as they want to take a look at him. But Tuchel also said it will essentially be the players decision on where he plays next year.
Perraud is our only senior LB and is injured. KWP can play there but with Tino also injured then we’d have no senior RB (don’t think we see Valery as an option there anymore). Someone will be playing there. Either a CB or Redmond as a LWB presumably depending on how we’re setting up.
I'd liked to have seen Small get a game, if not today then when can we test the kids out in the PL? Mo is no LB and I thought that we had done with making do at fullback. No kids on the bench doesn't make a lot of sense either.
Small is particularly young youngster isn’t he? Only 17 I think. I also think there’s an argument to be made that it’s much easier to include a young player or two into a team that is confident and playing well. We’re a mess atm and not sure it’s the best setting to give a youngster his ‘chance’. Maybe the experience trumps performance, I don’t know. But the young players that have gone on to do well with us have generally come into settled teams I think. Arguments to be made both ways.
Adam Armstrong to score a brace today and do the 'told you so' shrug to the bench for extra style points. You read it here first.
