G, Go retrospective, everyone that was on the pitch for our home leg play off matches, bloody hooligans.
I remember UEFA banning English clubs from Europe as a pre-emptive safeguard against the Football League introducing the play-offs the very next season.
Personally, I think it’s gone to **** since the Simod Cup got binned. No one even got so much as being tutted at before, during, or after a football match when that cup pacified the masses. When that went, the play-offs just kind of went dark and wild. Sends a shiver down my spine even just typing the name ‘play offs’ now.
We invaded the pitch at Brentford in 85 after the final whistle, took no prisoners that day, also at Walsall, at Rochdale, at Exeter, at Blackpool, no none at all
The play-off’s are the highlight of the end of the season, they’re fantastic, they’re obviously not going to be scrapped.
I’ve always found the idea of pitch evasion better then doing it , remember after Derby in the play offs - after about 2 mins thinking just stood on some grass now might as well get going
You're right, they won't be scrapped, but I still think it's wrong that a side can finish 6th, could be 10 points off 3rd, and then get promoted possibly on the basis of a dodgy penalty decision. Imagine the noise on here if we were that 3rd placed side
like when Brighton ****ed up against FC Massive who were 15 points behind them and we ended up promoted being 6 points behind - the fact we should never have ended up in the play offs and been automatic with the players we had is a different story
That was my opinion when they first were introduced and I haven't really changed it since, however they are here to stay and there's no doubt that they bring interest and excitement to the game; both within themselves and in the reduction of the number of 'nothing to play for' matches towards the end of a season.
Thanks for the reminder I made a couple of those . Liked the Cemetery Pub at Rochdale . The low cut leopard printed top of the young barmaid nearly did for me that day !
The good'ole days....Didn't someone run onto KC and attempted to grab Steve Gerrard who advised him to do one, then wafted him off like a fly?
Hopefully, 44k Sunderland fans will be going home crying down Wembley way. Tbh I think Sunderlsnd will be too strong. 2-0.
