Tbph I don't know what any religions belief is on homosexuality, whether that be Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism etc

Although seeing the latest news articles out of America regarding abortions, sometimes I feel we are going backwards.

I still think religion is important, maybe more important than ever.

I'll expand on my comment, I don't expect everyone to get this or to understand.

First of all I'm not signed up to any religion, I just have faith that there's something more but that's almost beside the point.

My upbringing was Christian, that involved all the good things, be nice to people, conduct yourself in the right way etc. To me at the very heart of all religion is that ethos and if we all just took on those responsibilities then the world would be a better place.

There's then the bad side of religion driven by crazy people and money. That part I don't like.

We could be here all day spitting plus and negatives dude...... but I'm not gonna do that because the very reason this post was posted was because one man's beliefs doesn't agree with another's......so straight away his belief divides........I rest my case

Yeah no point arguing about it, pointless. People have different views and we have to accept that. I'm very much of that opinion at the moment, anyone who thinks differently it's shouted down in the modern world and it's created a huge divide. People need to start listening to each other, respecting opinion and give calm coherent information if they think that someone is misinformed.

Not sure about the last two but the Bible is pretty brutal ... the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by God for their 'practices' and I believe it is punishable by death under Islamic law?

It creates debate, that is for sure, but that's how we learn...

Suppose my question would be that Ancient Greeks (1200-800 BC) didn't have much, if any, social stigma attached to homosexuality.

Was it the invention of religion that did that to today's society?

The only difference I see is how fickle as humans we are, two scenarios:

First scenario, a 21st century over paid footballer, who wants for nowt and is worried about a few colours on a t. shirt.

Second scenario, an Ancient Greek who thought rainbows were pretty but thought it barbaric to drink milk.

We're a bit fooked up really.

Now I love milk ... vanilla milkshake is bang up there as a lifelong love ... but would I drink it if the milk came from a horse, a sheep or lactating mum? .... yuck ... not a ****ing chance ... but why is it then perfectly OK to drink cow's milk ... It's totally nonsensical <laugh>
