As old as Pablo was, had he played instead of Roberts in all the games he played and did nothing, Pablo would have at least scored one and created a few.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/61529371 Nothing will happen, but they broke the rules, just like flares in the stadium pitch invasion etc. Never really disliked everton before but frank and his antics and this stuff is starting to grate.
Some are more prone than others, Firpo has had several injuries and problems one after the other, the same with Llorente. Then you get players like Dallas, Klich, Raphinha and James hardly ever out, Harrison too. Dallas was a stupid tackle resulting in a leg break. Some players are happy to play on despite having a niggle or slight knock, others don’t. Pablo a prime example of someone who did ask to be substituted quite often
No weekend ate as moved house on Thursday fkg nightmare but you know that already no broadband for another week and sitting in Macdonalds is a joke. The inquest on this season really starts Sunday night, but whatever your views on Bielsa, there are some players who let him down. One of the biggest is Tyler Roberts. Roberts somehow convinced Bielsa there was a top top player waiting to break out. He added nothing in the promotion season, but was given a new contract, he added nothing last season and was gash this season. Roberts was the go to player before Gelhardt. Firpo, Rodrigo James all let him down. Phil Hay said something yesterday that makes you think how bad the seasons been. Best player for Leeds by a mile has been Raphinha and hes not been great. The second best by a mile because everyone has been crap is Gelhardt, so why has he been mismanaged by Bielsa and Marsch
Joe has been injured at least twice and perhaps was being eased back in. You can't just throw a player back in. This is modern football and requires a high level of fitness.
Bielsa played football in his head which when it came off was very entertaining. But the training ground is not the place to judge a player. Roberts is rated by himself only and needs to go. Sell him and watch him score hardly any goals is my opinion of him. Honestly i think he is league one standard.
Surely the best coach in football couldn't be conned for 3 seasons. We could all see he was not up to it. Begs the question?
Yet the or machine told us in January they couldn’t find anyone better to sign. There are still some who believe that too
If there was one quote that wound me up more than anything this season it was this one. We were watching Roberts and others playing poor, players who’d not make the bench of other PL teams yet alone start whilst watching others sign the likes of Van DeBeek who’d hop into our midfield with one leg. Bielsa was awesome but his stubbornness failed him in the end. Do you know what though, I’d have him back for this last game over Marsch without hesitation
Result tomorrow likely won’t matter anyway. Personally no prob with championship footie next season if it’s to be. Honestly think thos lists of players we could afford that orta gave to Bielsa we’re piss poor so Bielsa was technically correct to reject them. On more than one occasion he said he understood the financial constraints of the club. Also Kinnear mentioned they’d need to dig into the summer fund to get Anderson early in January. They won’t have to worry now
I honestly feel a season in the championship playing for us would be the making of players like Hjelde, Cresswell, Bate, Gelhardt, Summerville and Drameh. The danger would be we’d need an immediate return or there would be a fire sale. I feel if those players improved as would be expected we’d be a stronger outfit for the PL than the promotion winning team of two seasons back. I think if we go down we’d lose 4-5 players, of those Rodrigo and Llorente I’d be pleased about, I’m hoping we move them on even if we stay up. Phillips and Raphinha have had their heads turn and they’re not the same. Firpo I’d not mind seeing how he develops in the Championship, I’d love to keep Koch but he might go, Bamford I’m 50/50 over.
I agree it could be the making of them and I’d be fascinated to see how they did - I’m not sure we’d go up with that level of inexperience as regular starters though. So agree it’s a risk.
