Two goals and two assists for our lad today. Although by the looks he could of scored four if luck would have gone his way. Do you think that in January he'll be brought back and played? I would like to see him back and if he continues to score then we would have possibly 3 scoring forwards if Mclean carries on his run. Then there is always Waghorn is we can keep him.

Ive always thought he's had the ability in the championship, just was unlucky with Mclean and Fryatt coming in after he'd started to score for us last season. If he's done it at QPR and is doing it at Milwall then I see no reason why he can't with us. However I've also liked what ive seen of Waghorn so far. I dunno if Simpson wasnt settled living away from London, sometimes players just don't work at one particular club for whatever reason, we shall see...

That's not necessarily true. Jay is a confidence player, once he starts scoring and the crowd gets behind him he'll go on a good run of form and start banging in goals. He did that for a couple of games for us in December/January last season, it was just a shame McLean and Fryatt were purchased just as he started putting them away.

I also heard somewhere that he spent a lot of time in the international break doing extra training sessions to become sharper. That's a good sign that he's prepared to work hard to re-enter a good patch of form and is determined to end his goal drout. I am however worried that if he continues playing well for Millwall that he'll come back to us and won't get played, shattering his confidence. We'll have to wait and see.

It is a win-win situation, either Millwall (or another club) buy him in January or we get an on-form striker, full of confidence back.

I understand that you offered £200k in the summer, but we wanted £600k(to half fund our deal for Waghorn).

I'd be having him back on that form. He looked a player on the football league show.

Never judge someone by watching clips of them on TFLS. It's partly why so many people overrated McLean.

The point I was getting across is that people who watched the Football League show and saw McLean score goals, and some good ones at that, and assumed he was a good striker. When we signed him not many people complained. Now after seeing him play week in week out for 9 months in the Championship, is he worth £1.6m? No.

If he's a confidence player, lets hope he never, never, reads the stuff on this forum.

Hope he continues to score and comes back to us.
