THETIGERSHULL nothing against you but why should we change our defense 5 minutes from time and put Dudgeon on the midfield where he hasn't played a single minute this season? We were defending well so the defense shouldn't be changed not even to put someone like Fabio Cannavaro!! Harper played because he was the only available miedfielder in the bench. I don't like him but it was the best substitution to do. If we didn't took mclean and put harper imagine we conceeded a goal people would start asking for Nigel's head in a second!!
No mate - you're the one who's sounding off about subbing Basso the other week. He was injured...and every Tiger's heart went into their mouth when Peter Gulasci came on ( = Leeds?). Basso was injured. So - but, hopefully, not badly - was McLean. A defensive shut-down and only Harper available.....
Ok, maybe I was a little too harsh and with hindsight your probably right, we should not disturb our defense but I think this demonstrates what OLM said on another earlier thread, Lack Of Strength In Depth if we have to resort to putting Harper on the bench, let alone playing him.
