    Kelleher yes
Gomez - maybe - they have walker and cancelo but they both play
Laporte - surely its stones and dias as n o1s so we canit put both matip and konate as our reservces
    Konate LCB.- better than ake
Tsimikas. zinchenko hasn't been backed to develop as LB imo.
    Gundogan - agree
Fernandinho - getting on a bit (and leaving)
Kieta -very begrudingly as city playfoden as CF now.
    Sterling?? Grelaish? awful ****s.
    Jesus - agree
    Jota - agree

    City are an interesting case

    Ederson
    Walker Stones Dias Cancelo
    KDB Rodri Silva
    Mahrez Foden sterling

    Steffen
    X Laporte Ake Zinchenko
    X Fernandinho gundogan
    X Jesus Grealish

in many ways their squad is now worse than ours and getting worse as player sleave or get put in jail.

their strength is in flexibility. kdb, foden, silva, jesus can play anywhere ans sterling has played a couple of spots

They have lost mendy who will never play again (what a scumbag) so they will buy there
They are losing fernandinho (will buy there)
They will sell jesus and get haaland but he is just no 9 the end

So its an interesting one that they could easily go off the boil with kdb etc but it does end to the thought that actually they cannot compete on 4 fronts no matter what ego tells them and this si why they consistently fail in europe.

Well that and pep being a tinkerer

I'd love to see some keepers make fools of players who just stick the ball down the middle in shootouts now.

So many keepers just dive out of the way that it is now a thing.

Always top marks when a keeper reads a penalty striaght down the middle <ok>

Shame about the aftermath with Billy Sharp, I'm not sure what we expect when we routinely allow pitch invasions like that - needs to stop immediately.

Idrissa Gueye rumoured to have missed PSG's game at the weekend to avoid wearing a rainbow symbol in support of LGBTQ+ rights. Cheikhou Kouyate and Ismaila Sarr have apparently come out in support of him, with Kouyate calling him a real man and Sarr posting three heart emojis, which seems odd/Ironic for an anti-gay message.

Ironic for a man who's surname is seemingly pronounced "gay".

I think individuals should be free to choose whether or not they want to wear what could be described as controversial tokens. Similarly with taking the knee. I don't think it's a big deal but like the booing of the national anthem, no doubt it will rumble on.

Should be discussed by the club. A number of black players in the squad may want the team to take the knee before kick off. A number of players might be gay or be in close contact with someone that is that they feel needs supporting or recognition. For one player to not take the knee or in this case refuse to wear the shirt is clearly due to homophabic reasons only.

Even if people feel its a taken gesture, then it shouldn't be a problem to go along with it.

Never get the need or attention from players or ex-players coming out publicly as being gay. Who actually gives a ****? Maybe everyone should go on TV on their eighteenth birthday to announce their sexual preference!

I agree that they should be allowed not to, but then they need to be prepared for any consequences that follow. As Jaffa said, in this case it can only be for homophobic reasons.

To be fair, how many have actually done it? And I don't think we're the target Audience. I don't think I've seen a single post here or on the PL Board about the Blackpool lad, which suggests that for the Posters it's not a big deal. But there are others for whom it may well be. I think everyone will now be watching to see what the reaction is. And it seems quite clear that there is still Homophobia in the game.

Don't be too quick to shout homophobia. If it's for religious reasons then there's a case for saying why does one group of people's sensibilities trump another's. It would be far better to not release these stories. They only cause division where none existed beforehand.

Another example - Mané and Salah are both Muslim and while Salah doesn't seem to have a specific problem with the champagne spraying celebrations, Mané will not join in and actively runs away. Neither imbibes but one has stronger feelings around alcohol than the other. It happens. I'm sure not all players wearing rainbow laces agree with the message but go along with the token gesture to show support and also avoid being singled out for bad press but every now and again a player who feels strongly enough to speak out like the player who refused to wear the poppy on his shirt gets dog's abuse for standing up for what they believe. The optics aren't good when one or two don't go along with an 'initiative' and imo it would be better for the clubs involved if they protected the players by not releasing why they were excluded from the lineup. People have to be free to stand up for their own deeply held beliefs whether we agree with them or not. I'd rather knock it all on the head and stop putting symbols on matchday kits because it's becoming divisive.

Religious reasoning doesn't stop it being Homophobia, it just gives it a justification. I think in this case it is for religious reasons, though that's still Speculation.

And not confronting an issue because it's divisive doesn't solve anything, it just allows an issue to fester.
