Tough game that. Taken it to the final game so it’s city’s to lose now. Thought Bobby was great today without getting on scoresheet. Elliott was much better today as well unlucky not to get a goal. Jota was quiet but almost popped up with 2 goals, was close on both occasions. Konate an absolute beast at the back again. Looks an absolute bargain buy already and long term CB as long as he has an experienced partner next to him to teach him over next 3/4 years.
last seen on the sofa in the back room with a cushion on his head muttering "ffs blow that whistle you useless **** Twatkinson"
I thought Jones was on the edge of having a good game. Some brilliant moments with the ball. Offers something different in that he’ll actually dribble with the ball from midfield. Commits players and created some decent openings and was very close to getting a goal for himself on another day
Getting this to last game is virtually miracle. Home game to prep side for cl final. But we cannot control games and are too negative doing it as we just go back and back til we are suddenly pinned on our box. Pass forward. Beat a man in good area. Keep winning throws and frees and corners. Our.cms and forwards seem to shut down and pass backwards and then we are being pressed on and can't cope against terribly poor sides. Still.... 19-1-0 v the bottom half teams. Mourinho would say that's how you win titles
Three points and no injuries was what I was hoping for. Sorry Gomez, but I'll accept your injury to keep our hopes alive. Get well soon.
Not really. Dribbling is fine but if you hog it and choose the wrong option almost all the time it's no good is it? By contrast Elliott passed well, chose the right options but hadn't the same ability to get a run on anyone. Roll on Sunday at 3pm
Phew. Didn't like those last few minutes. I'm just happy we've made those cheating ****ers work for their title which doesn't count anyway imo. Bobby played like he was 5 years younger today.
Who would have thought this a few months ago? Whatever happens, a great effort by everyone involved. While a domestic cup double and (hopefully) 90+ points is already great, I just hope we can get at least one of the biggies just to get some really good tangible reward for this season.
Bobby and Harvey played well tonight especially as they have not had much game time. Back 4 were pretty solid, especially Konate who could be the new VVD in a few years. Overall the team did well considering there were 9 changes from the FA Cup side. Onward and upward, bet both us and City lose at the weekend!
