This is clinical finishing by us at the sound of it, nice to see Hayes and Waggy come on and show they can work too...still time for BWP 3
was it just me or did Jeff Stelling completely blank our 4th goal..... sorry I don't care if we were 3-0 up already and its his team it's his job to report on the goals, no mention of it, didn't even go to the guy at the ground to tell us how the goal went in, nothing. Any blind Charlton fans would have been none the wiser until the classified results were read out. an excellent win though, hope its ruined your Saturday night now Stelling
Since Stephens has been absent with baby, and Hughes come in, we've won 3 games, scoring 10 goals and only letting in 1. I can see Hughes keeping his place, as he seems to give more defensive cover, allowing the other attacking players more freedom.
Like you guys i very much keep an eye on the oppositions results, great stuff from Exeter today, big favour their. These upset results happen alot, hopefully though, this year Cafc are of a slightly better quality and we skip clear, i dont want to be thinking top two all year, i want clear cut title. Doing great guns so far, how well are we travelling guys, brilliant. Mooney, semedo and even Sam sodje (Notts) scored today just for a bit of trivia
Are the away displays better than the home ones as apart from one loss the results are? I haven't been to an away game yet.
Wonderful result - the two Monkey Hangers at work (yes, we've got two!) have been razzing me all week - they may be a little on the subdued side on Monday... The good thing for me is that we're now starting to turn our tactical superiority into actual goals - and in two games against Pools last season we only managed one goal, now we've swept them aside. Building up very nicely indeed for the clash with Huddersfield. Can we do it in front of the cameras? Just got back from Waddon Road, where Plymouth were largely outplayed but continued playing a brave, classy looking passing game and were undone by a quite justifiable straight red at the end and a last gasp winner. As I had a free afternoon, it was a toss up between that game and watching Swindon/Bradford, which according to a text from a Swindon fan at work just reading "Borefest", was probably a good decision. Oz - another goal for Joe Anyinsah today as well - good for him.
I find it difficult to believe that Di Canio's "stallions" against the Barcelona of the North could ever be boring. Anyway, another brave and battling point for Parky's boys which sees them move up yet another position towards inevitable automatic promotion. Thank goodness we will get promoted and won't have to face them next season because, with a personal point to prove, I can see Parky getting them motivated to take all six points off us.
Refreshing to see a 15 year old player score or yours, looking forward to seeing the stunning goal later.
A month ago, just before we played Sheff Utd, we were top but Preston were two points behind with a game in hand. Sheff Utd were four points behind and Hartlepool were fourth, only five points behind with a game in hand. Before the season I tipped Huddersfield and Sheff Wed to be our biggest rivals. In fact, I thought Charlton might have to hope for a play-off victory. Looks like I could be wrong on the second part of that forecast. A long way to go yet, though. My main fear is BWP getting crocked. He does have a history of injuries, otherwise we would never have got near signing him.
Lovely to see Robbie Elliott in the Charlton crowd today.....Great team performance...And so pleased Waggy got on the score sheet.........
