Now hold on just a minute SA. I was reliably informed on here that playing your 3rd & 4th choice striker (neither of which are up to PL standard) is a solid tactic when up against one of the best teams in Europe. Apparently 5 subs means leaving your best players on the bench is sound so I suspect we'll see all teams doing it next season in the league
So Ralph's building it up as our Champion's League final, yet Liverpool are gonna play a bunch of reserve players... And still f*cking tonk us.
I actually don't think we'll get battered tbf. 1-1 or 0-2 I reckon. I just hope Bedders doesn't start. A sackable decision in itself tbh.
I think he'll set up the same as he did against the Gooners with 3 CBs and bring in Valery and Lyanco again, we'll need to be just as lucky as we were that day I reckon.
I think you are probably right there, just a bit disillusioned at the moment. I need a pep* talk to get enthusiasm going again. But from whenever it was that they felt safe, they stopped playing regardless of the people who had paid for the privilege and that has pissed me off. It's a pity you have to renew before the transfer window so you can see what the owner's intentions are. *No not that Pep
Liverpool flew into Eastleigh Airport fairly late last evening in G-SWRD Boeing 737 the same aircraft that we have been using recently. After it dropped them off, it flew to Newcastle to convey Arsenal home after their defeat. It is said to be flying Scouse home tonight from Luton! It would appear Eastleigh and Hurn didn't want to stay open late? Hearsay, but interesting if true.
It might depend on having the required number of staff manning the air traffic control tower (ATCT). If they don’t have enough then flights are stuck on the ground. A few weeks back my sons flew out of Bournemouth and after they had all boarded they were informed that the flight would be delayed for 40 minutes because of a shortage of people in the ATCT, owing to someone “being on a break”. A quick look at the live departures from Southampton indicates the last flight being 19.55, so I guess they just won’t be able to staff it, without piling on a big cost to Liverpool FC.
With Eastleigh it is as much to do with noise abatement restrictions, with Hurn they used to stay open late so it is unusual if it is the case this time?
I am in two minds here. 1. We are due our annual 9, are in ****e form and Liverpool are still in the title race. 2. It would be the most Saints thing ever to rock up in one of our worst ever runs of form and beat Liverpool.
Sat having a pre match pint in the Brewhouse. Decided that getting a hammering on the pitch and then not getting back to Bournemouth until nearly 11pm was just too good an opportunity to miss!! Let’s hope that regardless of result, we give them a good send off tonight and not boo them like morons! Yes we’re inconsistent, yes we’re **** at times, yes Ralph can be baffling with his decisions, but we are Southampton, probably one of the 20 most frustrating teams in the Premier League!! FACT COYR!!
