You're lucky I read the whole post because otherwise I was thinking "what the **** are you telling me all this for!?"
CBS's Ben Jacobs is linking us to Raheem Sterling, claiming he is desperate to work under Conte Sterling in Conte's system: Discuss
Romano Watch Fabrizio Romano says that - We are still keeping tabs on Pau Torres - We aren't looking to sign Jorginho
I suppose he'd give us an option on either wing, but I can't see it. Wages would rule him out and I doubt City want to deal with us at all.
Mike McGrath claims that we're keeping an eye on Richarlison, Anthony Gordon and Ben Godfrey in case none of them want to be in the Championship next season Seriously, Richarlison only works as a signing if we're planning on feeding Cuti raw meat in training next season
I've noticed something interesting on r/coys: in the last week there's been a complete 180 on which FBs we should sell in the summer, and they've gone from having Emerson top of the list to Reguillon being the FB we can let go while Emerson's starting to be seen as side-by-side with Doherty One thing in favour of both Emerson and Sess that the last week has shown is that, while they may not be the flying WBs that will help us going forward, they certainly are the WBs we need for games where we need to be a bit cannier - so while they may not get half a dozen or more assists, they do seem to be adept at locking down the flanks and that is just as important
I'd still like us to sign an attacking RWB and LWB this summer. But I'd be inclined to keep Emerson as a versatile option in the squad. I think he would make a very capable RCB in a three and I'd trust him more than Patron Sanchez as Romero's deputy. As you say Emerson could also be a further defensive option at RWB if needed.
I do think that it might be a smart idea going forward if we copy Poch's system of rotating WBs depending on opponents, for example I'm not convinced that Reguilon could have been as effective as shutting down our left flank against Saltypool that Sessegnon proved to be The real question is whether we believe that Conte can make the asymmetrical WB system work, as we used at various points in 2019-20 under Poch and the ubermensch - although realistically we need a reliably solid midfield to make that work effectively
Football BSider claim that Ndombele will be made to train on his own this summer to give him the not-so-subtle hint that he's done
“Antonio Conte’s also very happy with Romero and Kulusevski.” Yeah and so are the millions of Spurs fans around the world! I think we’d all forgotten what good signings felt like until those two and Bentancur arrived. I’ve got a taste for more now…
