@luvgonzo don't you suffer with gout? Do you get prescribed Colchicine? Had the makings of a gout outbreak on Monday morning, which is bad news obviously. Rooted out some of the above medicine I'd been give years back (the use by date is 31/07/2015!!) and hey presto, it gets rid almost instantly. Don't think they prescribe it anymore though. Hope I don't die or anything. *at least I won't have gout though*
News to me if Colchicine isn't prescribed anymore. Uloric (for prevention not treating symptoms) is frowned upon now because some studies show it might lead to heart disease. Colchicine to best of my knowledge (not a doctor) is perfectly safe and preferred for short term treating of symptoms. Prevention normally done with allopurinol though.
I use allopurinol and don't often have problems, once or twice a year and that's it. Last time I had it was after drinking Sol at a mates house, the stuff they put in **** beer to colour it is really bad for gout. This is why I'm a beer snob.
Good to know. It's worked anyway. If I ever have an outbreak again, I'll be sure to ask for this stuff.
I'm on uloric because allopurinol messed with my liver enzymes. Last flair up I had (maybe three years ago now) I was prescribed colchicine. Colchicine is to treat the symptoms not to prevent gout. I've always been prescribed colchicine when I had flair ups, and for me it does F-All. I'm very atypical though in that my flair ups normally last about a month at a time... I envy normal people who are back to normal in a few days...
I'm pretty fortunate. Get a flair up only once about every seven years. (Never since on Uloric... But only been on that three years). Last time though, I had just recovered from throwing my back out and being down for a week and almost immediately upon recovering... Bam... Gout... I was ready to move into a cyborg body after that.
Correct but unto the news on Roman we were coping ok. With a lesser manager we could well have imploded so i think to finish top four and run Madrid to the wire at theirs speaks volumes. Don't forget over the last 10 years you are deficient of silverware by 12 to 4.
