I think we need a new right-sided wing-back this summer. Wonder if Acun’s Fenerbahçe links could put us in the driving seat to sign Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Suggestions online that Eaves and Smallwood are gone, Honeyman rejected new three year deal so one year extension activated, one year extension also activated for Elder and Wilks.
Smallwood going would be strange since both parties seemed to want a new deal to happen, so you'd have to wonder whats gone on there if it's true that he's gone. Honeyman rejecting a 3-year deal would be a worry too. Most City fans seem to think Elder is ****e so will be against that one but he's miles better than most people think and we'd be mad to let him go.
Seems a bit suspect after reading it myself. Also said that Moncur is the best player in training, and that the players don't like the new regime, yet we're undoubtedly more organised. After Shota's comments on Smallwood, I'd be staggered if we didn't trigger his year. Also don't get why Elder would randomly say all this to fans.
There are always rumours flying about and think we just have to wait until it's officially announced. I can't see a player, who is likely to stay, spouting off to some random person, about other players' situations. The general market is overloaded with players out of contract, unless any of them have a better option already agreed upon, then one would think they would be happy to stay. As far as George is concerned, I thought I saw a video whereby he said his girlfriend was from these parts, so more reason for him to stay I would have thought?
Hull City Fans Forum group on Facebook. Someone met Elder in a bar and took a picture with him. Elder allegedly told this random guy the entire contract situation this summer and that the players don’t like the new regime. Say what you want about the ITK people on here, but they never betray confidences of their sources inside the club. This guy plastered a picture of him, his missus and Elder on social media then proceeded to ‘leak’ all this info that Elder told him. If it’s true, Elder’s in big trouble.
Tony Pennock seems to be awfully complimentary in his recent interview about this regime no one likes. Hardly surprising really that not many players like it if true. Most of them won’t be apart of it in the long run, this team needed shaking up, too many of them had become comfortable under McCann knowing they’d start no matter what.
Like who? You’ve said all season the players have ran their bollocks off so who exactly has become comfortable
I don’t think comfortable is the right word but there are a few players who played pretty much every game under McCann when fit and had no real competition for their places who have since fallen out of favour under Shota. Elder and Docherty being the two obvious ones. Fleming and Slater have displaced Elder and Docherty with ease under Shota and we’ve improved because of it. Maybe a few players are a bit put out over being dropped for not being good enough. Who knows? If some are discontent with being dropped, they have no right to be annoyed at anyone but themselves.
Maybe, but apart from the opening day, he's done nothing, so it would be a strange statement to make. There's always going to be a few that don't like the new regime, but getting rid of Smallwood and Elder this summer just makes the rebuilding job even harder. If Smallwood goes, we need a bare minimum of 3 new midfielders, but realistically 4 assuming Doc goes too. I think we'll make at least 9 signings but if we try to do an overhaul all at once, that can easily rise to almost 15. That's pretty much a new squad
The players are very happy overall, of course there is a couple that want to be playing more, but find me a club that doesn't have that...
The regime isn’t there to be liked. There remit is to win things. I’ve worked for plenty of managers down the years who were extremely unpopular but still got the job done.
