Unless I read it wrong it says since Warnock, so not including Warnock. As stated above a pretty sorry bunch, Hughes is an utter **** who couldn't win the Prem with billions at his disposal and is an egotistical knob. Redknapp is simple in the mind , and bought in as many of his old players as Warburton but managed to spend 50 times as much. He did however provide us with that glorious day at Wembley, so I can't put him bottom. Ramsey and Hasselbaink are League 1 managers at best and Ramsey isn't pulling up any trees at youth level either at the moment. Holloway will always be a club legend as a player and manager. He bleeds blue and white, and got us out of League 1 but just isn't tactically astute enough to succeed at the top level. Mclaren is just an excellent coach and I fear is Warburton. The difference being Mclaren somehow got Boro turned into a superb team for a little while and gave us Juninho. He also managed to get the England job somehow before the inevitable occurred and he ended up at Derby, granting us that majestic day stated above. Warburton managed to improve Brentford but couldn't manage to get them promoted, he did get Rangers promoted by beating teams like Alloa before getting sacked and then lasted less than 9 months at Forest before being outed. His resume is hardly inspiring , and I still believe he's a very limited manager who lacks in critical areas. He is however an excellent coach of younger players who I'd have been happier doing the job that Ramsey is doing ! Anyhow all this is water under the bridge , he has gone and I'm glad. Whether I'll be glad at who we appoint is another thing entirely, but it's out of our hands. I've stated over and over which men I'd like to see replace him , so I can only hope we get one of them. Here endith the lesson
Agree, and a special thanks to Holloway who got us out of the third division with little more than a bucket of spare change.
It's answered if you read between the lines ! All disappointing in one way or another. I'd rate him above Hughes and Ramsey but ultimately we haven't got promoted under him so I can't rate him above Ollie or Redknapp. Mclaren and Hasselbaink were both pathetic.
Can you read ? I put Ollie at the top because he managed us on several occasions and got us promoted out of league 1. I put Redknapp next because he got us promoted back to the Premier League, it's the owners fault that they didn't replace him immediately after he had. Warburton has not got got us promoted as was his remit or to at least get us in the play offs, so why would I put him higher ? This boring **** needs to be got over by people who can't let go. The man is a limited manager and I'm glad we've got rid of him. I'm looking forward and hopefully we can get in a guy who can get us back up and keep us there. Move on ffs
Your rudeness isn’t a requirement of this forum Hammersmith. “I can't rate him above Ollie or Redknapp“. So a manager who gets us out of league one is above one who gets us into the Premiership in your book. As for rating them by years of tenure then (since Warnock - your chosen rule) Redknapp (27 months) did a longer stint than Ollie (18 months). Having not stated clearly a 1, 2 I assumed you would have put Redknapp above Ollie on those bases. as for getting over anything … I have definitely moved on and not posted about MW and his removal for some time (unlike many of you ); I am awaiting our new manager with great anticipation Hammersmith. Hopefully he won’t be the greatest manager to get us out of League One and top your list.
For what it's worth, I'm not sure you can say Redknapp was better because he got us promoted. He had a fairly large war chest and still only managed to scrape the playoffs and were lucky to win the final. MW has had a fraction of that to spend and has done a pretty good job overall. I'd say he's the best we've had since warnock, though the bar is not very high. Incidentally, I was one of the few who agreed he should go. Something went very wrong in the last fee months and it wasn't all down to injuries. I'm now beginning to wonder if there was a plan though, would have expected someone to have been named by now.
Worryingly quiet, not even hearing any rumours. Maybe that’s a good thing or maybe they’re struggling to find good candidates.)
I assumed we could not move for Manning or Ainsworth until they had finished in the playoffs. We can talk to Manning now...and I hope we are. We may still be waiting on being allowed to talk to Ainsworth, I hope we are not
I wouldn't conveniently forget the 252 games Ollie was in charge of us from 2001- 2006. Ultimately its about delivering success and Warburton didn't, I've said before I rate him as a coach but not as a manager.
The longer it is left, the shorter our pre-season and the easier to rely on the excuses of not enough time to get my players in, train in way I want to etc. Bracing myself for next season.
Just 11 weeks to go. We have no manager in the door and a selection of contracts to resolve, along with vacant positions to fill. Rather intriguing position we have put ourselves in knowing we have such a short gap between seasons. The board needs to pull its finger out - rather nifty! Sir Les … where are you? Where is our new manager!!!
Have you thought that maybe we've approached someone who's season isn't over yet ? Be imprudent to say anything if we have
Time might be short, but I'd rather we took our time and appointed the right person than the first herbert who cropped up !
In the same way we approached players, that we thought we should offer new contracts to, before the season ended as we would be better with them than without them? The season ahead has to be an improvement on this season - so phones need to be ringing, contracts being drawn up and pre-season plans being put into place pronto. Then we need new players in. 11 weeks and counting.
Don't be concern, ole mate. When things are good, we start well and slide at the end of the season to mid-table. If things are bad, we start poorly but rise to mid-table at the end. Either way, whether the glass is half full or half empty, we finish mid-table. If only l could predict the winning lotto numbers!
