Folks, I am already doing my preparation for the Leicester v Saints Match Day Thread!! And then I will have two and a half months to prepare the next oñe. I am a half glass full person
Don’t forget to include a bit about how both teams are very good at conceding from set pieces, so that the gamblers on here can see if there is a price for the first goal coming from a set piece. Leicester don’t score many from set pieces, but I am sure Saints might well be charitable.
Liverpool were far from their best yesterday against Villa. I think that priorities may dictate the outcome of this game.
I don't think for one minute that Liverpool will be anywhere close to being charitable to us yet, let's face it, Saints will more than likely get a point however bizarre that may sound and provide a performance of the season in doing so! Hope springs and all that!!!
It may (may) be that Liverpool realise that Man City are not going to be caught at the top of the league, so will go all out to beat Chelsea in the cup, in order to maintain their chances of a treble this season. Consequently, they will play their best team in the cup final, and will then play their second string against us. They'll probably still beat us, but with a bunch of players that we've never seen before. In an alternative universe, we will play brilliantly and win, so that the crowd will be singing 'We are staying up' at the end of a 3-0 victory.
I think you are being overly pessimistic tbh as we are running on empty and will have played the first eleven v Chelsea and will have one eye on CL final though obviously hope i'm badly wrong . @The Ides of March Top matchday thread mate and filled with far more info than mine will have
One win in the last eleven games does that to you. We've gone from realistically looking at a top ten finish to a possible relegation. The biggest fear is not just that you'll beat us but you'll be looking to improve your goal difference too. This could get very messy for Saints.
well a 9-0 would be nice but most of us accept that the league has gone bar a massive surprise and that the cups will be the focus .
Our ability to take unexpected points against (alledgally) superior opposition is matched by giving them away to teams we would think a favourable result is likely. Consistently inconsistent is Saintsy.
With the entire Saints squad just out of shot relaxing by the pool as they have been for the last ten bloody games.
9-0 would be nice? It’s that lack of ambition that’s holding you back, when you can only wish to emulate Leicester City and Man Utd’s score.
