I am returning sameday .But that could change.I normally stay out at Theydon Bois which is on the central line
I can't speak for the lad who's taking us but he's leaving early to be in London at lunchtime. Then staying over at Watford before returning to the NE for teatime. I don't know if he'd want another passenger but he probably has the room and is a great bloke. If that's of any interest I'll mention it.
It's the Argyle at Oxford Circus W1D 2LT which is on the tube to Wembley, our end. Links to all main stations inc Victoria Coaches. Opens at 10, seating outside, cracking pub. Various people will be coming and going, picking up tickets, etc, but there'll always be around 20/30 there from all over the country ... ... so far there's Scotland, Devon, Cornwall, Hastings, Bristol, Sheffield, Mansfield, Oxford, Cambridge and a few others.
I’m in Russell Sq on the Friday and a lad I work with who was at Uni round there has give me the heads up on a greasy spoon, so will look to head over after but depends on my sons and their mates getting down to KX on time to drop their bags off at my hotel.
Yeah, these 'arrangements' are always fluid and none of us stick rigidly to them ... ... spontaneous meeting and bumping into lads you've not seen for yonks is all part of the fun
Yep at some point I’ve Got to meet me knacker mates who're in Watford and all have drink related ADHD spontaneity. One of them just randomly got off at Pinner for one last pint before the Pompey Final. 12 o’clock at night. Got his pint and a £20 taxi bill back to Watford. His nickname was changed from the Pallion Pouncer (due to an event at my stag do with jack the rippers) to the Pinner Pouncer after that still, I have the tickets, so it’s up to them to find me! :-D
The lads were travelling down with are at the Premier Watford so we're leaving from there. We booked a twin room a mile from Wembley through my Booking.com loyalty thingy. £45, bet it's dead posh.
"The fan in question – @JellyJelly88 on Twitter – tweeted a screenshot of his confirmation email, adding: “It’s actually happening, I’m flying to Menorca to get to Wembley, an absolute bargain at £23 and a cheeky day in the sun, I’ll see you all in Trafalgar Square, if a little burnt.” https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gi...ey-via-spain-for-play-off-final-v-wycombe/amp
That's class. But also highlights how mental it is to travel by train in this country. Those rail prices are crazy.
A few years ago an AFL semi final was being played in Perth. It was cheaper to fly via Bali (duty free piss both ways) then fly direct fron Adelaide to Perth
There’s a lad from Seaham going to Milan then London as it works out cheaper, including the night in Milan. And they reckon we don’t do Milan for finals.
All you need is a helper monkey to bring you beers mate ... ... get onto Social Services and see if they have any spares
