That's a separate excuse for not just saying well done after season 1 and 2. That's what I did and then season 3 I was desperate to see him go It wasn't hard for me
Trust me Tash you're dealing with an angry mob and you're effectively defending a witch they wanted to burn.... It'll be you next they're beyond any rationale.
It was battling relegation for a while. But that's cos it was disorganised and playing like crap at the start of the season. Do Everton, Southampton, Leicester, and Villa have championship teams this season then? They've all been scrapping around the bottom and looking over their shoulders. Doesn't mean they have championship squads.
Sigh, it was a squad that around the quality of the crap that as battling relegation. We were weak in many positions, and the squad could have easily been relegated.
Tash they said the aim was always 17th until bruce finished 12th and 13th and then they weren't happy with performances You see what I mean? They're beyond reasoning
I just respect people saying I don't like Steve bruce and waited as long as it took to avoid saying well done for anything that went well. He was a useless manager that did well for 2 years.
Trying to work out how to translate that first sentence, but i can't. You are claiming it was a championship squad, it wasn't. Just cos it could have been easily battling relegation doesnt make it a championship squad, by that logic every team in the lower half of the Prem has a championship squad.
He did average with an average team, and thanks for that and thanks for ****ing off. Wasn't a championship team, wasn't certain for relegation, and he did ok and certainly didn't work miracles.
Or see where Rafa finished. Spemd a relatively large sum of money and see where that can take you with a tactically astute manager.
Cos Tash seems to want to tell us off if we start getting hopefully about the future, and seems to think we should be talking about what how great Bruce was.
Whatabout this and Whatabout that is another conversation entirely. The question is whether he deserved any credit for keeping nufc up two seasons and given peoole said we were going down in both there should only be one answer and it's yes. The aim was 17th he finished 12th and 13th
17th was never the aim, it was just the bare minimum that was acceptable. As i said he did average with an average team, he didn't work miracles with a championship squad.
This will only result in abuse for anyone that dares to give a hated man any credit Tash. That's how society works
This thread was started as a question Posters have answered the question No need to have a diatribe about the ins and outs So as not to sit on the fence - NO! And I don’t need a painfully long explanation as to why other peoples opinions are differing
But 17th wasn't the aim, it was minimum needed. Bruce was a massively unpopular manager who did average with an average team. He is now her near as popular as Rafa cos of his mackem links at the start, but mainly cos he was a bumbling yes man who served as a front for Ashley's ****, whereas Rafa was clearly ready to fight Ashley. Similar league finishes yes, but one manager with a vision who wanted to take us forward, and one bumbling clown who we were embarassed to be associated with.
