Yeah but they will wash the track to make sure nobody gets truly shafted by the dusty side of the track.

Can they do that? Thought the general cleaning of the track during a weekend wasn't done.

Now much rubber do the Pirellis lay down though? They tend to leave marbles rather than a film of rubber, and especially on the straight I think the advantage of starting on the racing line will be minimal. Assuming they sweep the track of course.

Alonso said there was no clean side at the start.

Pretty much clears it up then. I kind of hope Webber takes the lead at the start, it would be strange seeing him lead a race for some reason.

I predict a Red Bull coming together at Turn 3 of some sort...

Karthikeyan gets a 5 place penalty for holding up Schumacher, as expected. So the first Indian GP will start with the Indian driver at the back. Ricciardo is also taking a penalty for a gearbox change.

Untrue, they're all in front of Glock.
I watched the incident on the BBC and they all agreed it was extremely harsh because of the way the track's designed, he was busy in the left-rights, how was he to know Schumacher was there? Can't believe that one.

Is Glock taking a penalty as well then? I agree it was harsh on Karthikeyan, I don't really know what else he could have done in the situation, the team should have warned him in advance though. He could have slowed right down before the corner and let Schumacher through if he had the advance notice.

Apparently Glock is last because he was outside the 107%.

I hope Webber throws one down the inside of Seb or at least attempts something. If he gets one of his trade mark starts we know for a fact Alonso will have a go like in Germany. Really looking forward to this race, its poised perfectly.

Neither was I, if they're going to enforce that rule he shouldn't start at all.

Glock has been within the 107% all weekend though; it's not as if he's like the Hispanias at Australia or Andrea Moda.

One rule needs to be applied to the whole field. Had Hamilton (or similar) crashed in Q1 without setting a time, imagine the furore if he wasn't allowed to race due to the 107% rule. If you'd be prepared to let Hamilton race, then you have to accept that Glock has a right to his place on the grid.
