Looks pretentious and expensive. No Northerner is going to pay 29quid for fish, chips and peas even if it was served by Batman himself.

    Will be barbecuing this weekend.

The thread went a bit flat as winter returned, probably time to dust it down again now it's supposedly going to be quite warmish this next week or so.

Lots of cooking today so that I have a meal ready for tonight and everything ready for tomorrow so that I'm not messing about too much as there's a footy game on.

First up making Kecap Manis, which is pretty simple.

Yeah you add brown sugar and reduce so that it's a syrup consistency.

Never heard of anyone making Kecap Manis. Just buy it.

Interesting to hear what is going into your Nasi Goreng and even more interested in how its going to take you most of the day. Nasi Goreng is normally a 15minute dish, knocked up right before you eat it.

Hope you will be going with the slightly runny fried egg on top.

I'm doing a couple of dishes today I'm prepping everything for the Nasi Goreng today so that it's all done and easy to knock up tomorrow. So I'll cook the rice and bung it in the fridge, can't buy Kecap Manis here so I'll make it (should have tried Amazon).
    Ingredients I'm using are...

    Chicken thigh
    Onion
    Kecap Manis
    Shrimp paste
    Garlic
    Chilli
    Rice
    Onion
    Fried egg
    Spring onions

    Any tips?
