Utd tried to buy him and Blackburn almost had Keane signed but you just ignore facts, the article said they spent their money on forwards,a team comes out of nowhere and buys a few good players and wins the league,I didn't have a problem with it but obviously some still do.

    everyone buys players

it’s what you buy that shows your intent

splashing the cash breaking British transfer records left right n centre suggests you’ve got lots of money to spend…which is fine but it is what it is…I dont get why anyone tries to make out as though Blackburn were a club run on a shoe string when they won the title.

I just don’t see how that is anywhere the same as Lesta who were probably planning for another season of trying to fight for survival or mid table unlike Blackburn.

    This been covered loads
I know what you’re saying but Leicester were one of the worst imho
I know fosse will defend them to the hilt and quite rightly as he is a fan
But Leicester cheated massively to get their win
They broke ffp as bad as anyone
They just did it in the championship

    all this is relative
The amount they spent on players and wages in the championship was the tantamount to what city have been doing in the Prem.

it all depends on your perspective

I would never begrudge Leicester their win but this constant illusion that they did it with no skeletons in the closet is daft imho

    Oh I get it now

    Mick’s a Toon

he knows his team in their quest to become Chelsea must become a Blackburn first to get the ball rolling

Watching this on Blackburn and Leicester is like watching Klopp and Conte go at it

basically what you’re trying to say is that Arsenal should not be in the top flight of English football

    I agree Bumps

    No idea on Arsenal
    Lol
I think there have been teams that have had some fantastic seasons in the top flight
The big boys have always been the big boys and have always had ways and means of gaining an advantage

I felt for the Everton squad under Moyes that were robbed by Collina - they looked like they were assembled really well and who knows what could have been had they gotten through that game.
    Anyway I am jibbering now

No problem from me ... I enjoyed Blackburn crashing the party and rocking the complacency of the usual suspects... but as Spurly points out, if your pockets are deep enough to enable you to break British record transfer fees at will, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that you can make a good fist of a title challenge ...

I was answering Fosse and his assertion that Leicester were the only team not to spend a billion to win the league which wasn't true, here's something I didn't know

    1994/95
    The biggest spenders: Everton
    The spend: £10.9m
The signings: Earl Barrett, Duncan Ferguson, David Burrows, Daniel Amokachi, Vinny Samways
The biggest signing: Duncan Ferguson (£4m, Rangers)
    The finish: 15th

And you assumed Blackburn would complete this most obscure of hat-tricks. Kenny Dalglish spent £6.5m on Chris Sutton and Jeff Kenna to finally deliver the Premier League title to Ewood Park, but they were blown out of the water by Everton. The Toffees are proof that money does not guarantee success: they spent more than anyone in the 1994/95 season, only to finish 15th.

Footnote:this is when the madness started to ramp up and nowadays you can get a Harry Maguire for £80m :cheesy:

In other news we have welcomed back our loanees now that the EFL regular season has finished ... two are 23 year old George Hirst (son of ex- England striker David) who ended up as Portsmouth's top scorer with 15 goals and Daniel Iversen a 24 year old keeper who won both the fans and player's player awards at Preston ... he's 6ft 4" and is Kaspar's understudy for Denmark ... Brenda has said that both will feature with the first team in pre-season ... da Yoof!!!

Dream on Munse ... a disappointing season for us is losing out in a European semi-final to an Italian giant managed by Jose Mourinho ... a successful season for you is not still being in the relegation scrap with a couple of games left ... levels <laugh>
