They shot their mouths off about partygate to try to cover up some of the good things Boris was doing, and missed loads of opportunities to grab other issues, only to find themselves hoist by their own petard.

They have not only looked like a bunch of gobby hypocrites, but now find themselves having to scrape the dregs to try to find a new leader and Cabinet, whilst at the same time, removing their greatest asset from the PM's seat.
