My wife’s doing a whites wash.
Tomorrow she’s doing a coloureds wash.
    I’m truly ashamed.

RIP Dennis Waterman , they filmed an episode of Minder at a place where I worked and Dennis sat and had lunch with us lads , great chat about the show and the Sweeny , I remembered the show about the guy with the wig known as an Engelbert humperdinck with built in dandruff , George Cole would not talk to any of the staff and only came out of his trailer when hit shot was due
    Nice guy Dennis

    RIP Dennis!

(But have to balance re George Cole. I did a Drama course in the mid '70's and he gave up several days (all unpaid) to come and talk about a career in theatre and ended up making arrangements for backstage visits to various theatres and a few secondments. He couldn't have been less a 'grumpy star'.)

That's annoying, they only filmed The Bill around here - and every place they set up seemed to be within 90 seconds walk of a pub

Shows John Thaw’s Manchester roots (and Regan apparently).
Us Northerners have dinner at midday; not around 7pm like you Southern softies

No, you just haven't mastered lunch yet.

If you're struggling, you could ask your butler.

F*****g cheek , southern softies, you do not know the hardship of queuing on a Saturday morning for the artisan sourdough or imported hand polished Bolivian avocados

Indeed, RIP DS Carter. In my youth "The Sweeney", in my (much) later married years, "New Tricks".

In case people don't know the football connection with New Tricks, it was that the writers were West Brom fans and named the three original main characters, Gerry Standing (Dennis Waterman), Brian Lane and and Jack Halford after where they used to watch the matches, "Halford Lane Standing". Also included another of my favourite actors James Bolam, so really liked that series.

I wonder why they made Lane a Wimbledon fan? Colour scheme, perhaps?
