Late to the party - I know everyone is disappointed with the result and it's easy to criticise the performances but these lads have been putting in such high levels of quality, effort, intensity week in week out (2 or 3x a week!) and are the reason why we're competing on all 4 fronts and in 3 finals.

After a disastrous xmas period where we ultimately lost the league, we got a bit of luck and suffered no new injuries or covid cases and we were able to show everyone just how good we are when we have a half decent squad available.

There were some really poor performers vs Spurs - Mo, Mane, Trent and Robbo spring to mind but you only have to look at the amount of football these guys are playing. Then look at their roles and you'll see they have arguably the most physically demanding task. With Mo and Mane, these guys had to play an international tournament halfway through the season - Mo even had to play 3 or 4 FULL 90 minus PLUS extra team in almost every game! It's no wonder they look knackered.

The league was always going to a long shot after we dropped so many points over Xmas but these lads fought back incredibly to make this title race this close.

I'm not conceding the league just yet but we still have a very good chance to win a treble.

Foden, De bruyne and probably Mahrez. First 2 would be first teamers and mahrez would be a great squad rotation for Salah on the right.

Think if youre doing a combined then Dias probably gets in but not really an area we are weak with Matip Konate Gomez.

Silva?, foden? I like silva cos he's a hard worker and would be IDELA for RCM. but then KDB would be too.

If i were to make a "squad"

GK: Alisson , Kelleher (hg), carson (for the HG) no ederson as i have alisson who is better keeper
RB: Trent (hg), Cancelo. Really like cancelo
    RCB: Konate, Gomez (HG)
    LCB: VVD, Dias
    LB: Robertson Tsimikas
DM: Fabinho, Rodri (not a huge for of rodri tbh, think he's not excatly the guy i'd depend on after his showing when laporte was out)
    RCM: KDB, Silva.
LCM: Thiago, henderson (again need leadership here and HG)m, jones (club)
RW: Salah. good point on mahrez for RW but foden here as well. again HG.
CF: Jota. Real lack here in city as well. foden then.
LW: Diaz, Mane. For me sterling itsn't at the races.

My 8 HG then are Kelleher (club trained), trent (club trained) gomez (club trained), Jones club trained), Carson, Henderson, foden

there's 17 foreign players in Alisson, Cancelo, konate, vvd, dias, robertson, tsimikas, fabinho, rodri, KDB, silva, Thiago, Salah, Mahrez, Jota, Diaz, mane.

Obviously city fans would then state thier club trianed players as perference (should they have many) and would bias the other way. I think i've been more fair than many would be in selecting a squad there.

Theres obviousl gaps at city like LB and CF where i ended up putting foden in to have a name.

    First 11 would be

    Alisson
Trent ( but its close imo these days) Dias VVD Robertson
    KDB Fabinho thiago
Salah (not its now close again) Mane/foden Diaz

So they got 3 into the first 11, on current form alone Cancelo and mahrez might get in as well.

I can't be fairer than that can i? Silva my go to midfield sub too.

Always tricky. Cancelo in city’s team is played Lb as they tuck inside onto his right foot infield to be able to play as a CM effectively. Don’t think he’s as good at RB because he’s not a get down the line and cross type. So in city formation works perfect, but you can’t compare him to Robbo in ours because asked to do totally different things.

Similar Foden rarely plays RW for city, generally on LW to give width because Cancelo tucks in, but doesn’t work as well in ours because need our wide players to cut inside. Foden as a false 9 would prob work for us in the firmino type role.

Wouldn't have Jota in Watford's team atm. He looks shot since his injury and is tripping over the ball like a Portuguese Sterling. Think he needs the season to end and have a rest, and a good pre-season, imo.

Got to say, this is pathetic. Yes, fans should be castigated for singing about Munich/Heyel/Hillsborough, but this? Eh? One of my favourites at Anfield a few years back, considering I was married to a Smoggy and my daughter lives up there as a nurse, is when Middlesbrough fans sang 'In your Liverpool slums'. FFs, has anyone been to South Bank or Grangetown? Or the Burnley fans too. Or **** me, the Mancs from Salford and Gorton....

This IS banter, IMO. Snide, untrue, and gobshittery, but banter. Different from the other stuff completely.

Yeah... Don't understand the defeatist emotions.

City massive favourites now, but I've seen crazier odds overturned time and time again.

Cant and wont criticize a team that has dropped only 4 points in four months, and got to three cup finals. it was always a uphill struggle to claw back 14 points, even without the cup games. all that said, wanted to be realistic now and let the Prem go. though it's the one I want most, it's the one least likely
concentrate on fa and cl now.

excatly. why grind your gears. great days coming starting this weekend. Would absolutely love klopp to get the fa cup.

It'd be the first LFC manager to win League, FA cup, League cup and CL. he would then have move the needle on every trophy bar the europa on the wall of champions.

so much to look forward to (hopefully). no need to worry about the league any more. if it comes back next week fine but for this week we play villa Tuesday and the big game is the FA CUP FINAL!

City have completely distorted the league to a point where anything less than perfection is simply not good enough. But f*ck it - let them have the league - literally no one cares when they win the league. And when we win the FA Cup and CL, all the attention will be on us.

I've said before, as far as I'm concerned none of their trophies count as they were all bought through devious financial manipulation and strong-arm legal tactics.
They'll go on the record books of course, but we all know they've cheated to get them.
I know others will say it's envy, but I'm on record as saying I don't want us to be owned by anyone similar. I don't think they or their like should ever have been allowed to buy one of our football clubs.
