Pep trying to build a plucky underdog siege mentallity for City is laughable if not just pure Insulting. His disrespectful comment in regards to our one "Premier league" title totally dismisses why we are what we are (a footballing institution) with a rich history of ups and downs, glorious successes and failures and icons like paisley and Kenny and city are what they are which im sure i dont need to describe. Hes in turmoil cos hes ultimately failed at City, he was brought in to win the champions league no matter what he says, and he hasn't done it in 6 years with every possible advantage at his disposal. **** him and them.
Dunno - think he's playing the victim role for some reason. He often seems really miffed when people suggest he might have a, shall we say, slight advantage in the financial department.
Pep is rocking in a corner like a manc on crack. All they do is chante 20 and talk about how tin hat or something is going to save thier club. Talking about history and ****. man he is like an LFC fan watching hodgson rubbing his face.
Pep wants City to be like LFC but they never will be because a) their success is built on excessive spending and financial doping, b) they dont have the same level of support and c) they dont have the history.
This is from that Mail article. Some cognitive dissonance on display here, not to mention a touch of paranoia. The CAS decision didn't exonerate them, it merely stated that some of the evidence presented against them was outside of the investigated time period. So they got off on a technicality, and everyone knows it. If Pep genuinely believes it's all above board he must be the only person in the world that does.
it also said that City had not only not cooperated with the investigation but they had actively tried to block it .
and this is why when directly asked pep didn't take the opportunity to actually answer the question. are you paid elsewhere? instead he lost the head and starting accusing the reporter of all sorts. theres a big difference in his mind between "doing things properly" aka "legally" and doing things fairly. its apparently perfectly legal for a state to funnel nearly 400mil of 600mil in revenue through that club from thin air sponsorships that make no return. its perfectly fine to deposit moneys into a corporate structure that a player or manager can liquidate at a later date at the most tax efficient location possible... apparently. IMO he got the hum...again... cos someone referred to them losing in the CL semi final. He said his bit Wednesday and he doesn't like being reminded of losing. he was all nice and humble wednesday but as a WINNER (and a bit of a ****) he then immediately draws a line under it and wants to look forward but gets the hump if anyone brings it back up. I would say once a player leaves they are dead to him. i've not exactly heard too many ex players refer to pep much at all TBH.
Yeah, they're bent as **** and everyone knows it - he's just lying to himself to justify staying there.
Didn't they 'lose' a load of paperwork that was requested and end up delaying the process for enough time so that the original investigation parameters expired?
That right there just might be the problem you're not seeing Can't see City losing, no matter how much we want it. We needed them to be playing Palace or Spurs in the last 3, City's bogey teams.
We only need 3 wins and city 2 wins and a loss. You are right though, wolves and west ham..... even though they are away games for city now. west ham last win in league was 2015. They drew 0-0 in 2020 12 losses and 3 draws in 15.... several hockeyings. wolves won 3 in 2019/20 when city has issues at cb. theres a draw at home outside that period and lots of beatings. the head to head since wolves shave been promoted is not actually that bad so this might be the one. City play villa at home on the final day. if it comes down to that game villa's record v city 0-1-11. hardly inspiring. We MUSt focus on the cup and the squds must take car of the couple of midweek league games now. The two finals must be priority and frankly if that means city lose one and win the others by 10 goals and we lose on GD so be it. If we lose cup finals due to tiredness and still chase city and fail people will be even more irate.
I doubt anyone on here is saying they still think we'll win it - just that you don't give up until it's definitively over. If we take it to the last day then that's far better to me than giving up now. Make the cheats sweat until the last minute - never make it easy for them.
but prioritise the cup final this week. massive game v very difficult opponents in the fascist oligarchy. We are playing on behalf of the free world here whereas playing villa is well.. just playing brummies. A weakened side = morton, gordan, bradly, beck etc. A use of the squad involves using amazing talent like joe gomez, tsimikas, milner , jota...... if we can't beat villa with those top talents we might as well chuck it now.
to be fair, few on here thought that City would drop points in the first place. But fewer still thought they’d get knocked out by Madrid. Sh*t happens sometimes. Let’s hope it happens again
I'd be surprised if they don't drop points. As I said all along, during this final phase... We will drop points and so will they. We've dropped points now... They can too. GD becomes critical now and they're scoring more than we are. It also matters now what kind of points they drop. They're much less likely to drop three than two. Still all very much alive though. City, naturally are now massive favourites.
