Roberts was great last night. So direct. Unlucky not to get a goal

If AN is going to play both him n Clark I would like it if they swapped wings now & then. I agree Roberts was very unlucky yesterday but would like to confuse defenders by having different wingers running at them unsure if a bloke is going to cut inside or go past them down the wing and put in a superb cross.

My main gripe with Clarke is that always seems to cut back inside, I know he’s young and he’ll develop but surely after a while it’s a bit predictable

Exactly. Hence I would like him to go past people on the right and swing crosses in.

My main gripe with him is that I don’t think it “means enough” to him. There were 2 or 3 occasions where he was favourite to get the ball and Gooch would have without doubt. But he didn’t want to risk anything. If it meant something he’d have put himself in where it hurts it just didn’t

I guess that is the difference between a loanee and an experienced pro who has been here since he was a teenager

I do agree with you, but equally I don’t think we’d have made the playoffs without him, he got a vital few assists.

when he did decide to run to the box he rarely got tackled so to see him turning back inside so often was infuriating, but i guess he was mixing it up a wee bit...his non affinity to the club was evident in the first leg i felt.

can forgive his play at times as he is young but he could take a lesson or three from broadhead who shows passion and desire, in fact i forget he is 'not our player' at times as he just seems to fit.

Love to make him our player next year. I don't think he is putting himself in the shop window or wanting to go back to parent club and get a chance (like some of the loans we have had) he is just loving getting onto the pitch!

think this loan move was to 'shop window' him, everton must not rate him too highly when they have had a sh1t season for injured attackers and not recalled him, hopefully we win the next two games and he sees us as a good fit as his goals per appearance is pretty damn good.

I mean by the shop window he is not here thinking he will get himself into a bigger club by lowering himself to play here, see Januzaj. I hope we sign him but can only see it happening in the championship.
