And the financial gulf between the top 6 EPL clubs and the rest is probably equally as bad. Sadly, the way things are at the moment, I doubt that will ever change, money simply means too much to the clubs/players at the top. Personally, I'd prefer it if those 6 all pissed off to join a European League & the EFL was restructured - back to Divisions 1 to 4, shunting up the top 6 teams from the National League, and no promotion/relegation to or from the European League. Then, and only then, start talking about money. But I think I'm sane enough to realise that it will never happen...
For me personally, I would like to see Everton come down with us, just because I like seeing a big club brought down to earth and they've been in the top flight my entire lifetime. If I was thinking narrowly what's in Watford's interests, then I think it's better that Burnley come down with us as they have less resources than Leeds or Everton, and so should be easier for us to compete against in trying to win promotion back up.
I’ve got no personal gripe with any of the teams in the mix for relegation to be honest. I would choose Burnley - not through any dislike - but because as a ‘smaller’ club they would be less likely to bounce straight back up than the others - giving us more of a chance (I live in hope!)
Leeds/Everton at Ashton Gate makes the championship more interesting with respect to other teams. Full away end, bit more buzz around the place and a game against a bigger team welcome as Bristol City wont be bothering the Premier League.
given it a lot of thought but still come to the same conclusion.. i really could not give a monkeys, the whole system of parachute payments renders any real comment pointless
Everton, second longest time in the top division. They could do with a break. Team with the longest time up top, Arsenal, to go down next season. Then I can die happy.
As a club I prefer Everton to Leeds but I prefer Bielsa/Marsch to Lampard (I'm done with FL after his comments on RA + celebrations against us). For the sake of my GF's family who are avid Leeds fans I'd rather them stay up. Plus I think it's important for the next generation of Chelsea fans to have that Leeds v Chelsea rivalry. Growing up it was one of the first fixtures I looked out for.
As I said on the Liverpool board. Fulham haven't even started playing in the Premier League yet, and I already can't wait for them to be relegated.
I would like Burnley to stay up, as they are really fighting to do so. So a toss up between dirty Leeds and Everton.... lets have Everton down as Leeds will probably come down the following season!
Well being of a certain age i have an instinctive dislike of Leeds but your pure entertainment value last season has earned you another season in it . I would say Everton but worry that could lead to financial meltdown and couldn't wish that on them so by a process of elimination Burnley
