Seeing a decent bit of praise for Clarke. Personally I thought he was dogshit. Permanently a second slow reacting to where the ball was going and hiding behind players so Cirkin was unable to find a pass to him. Roberts on the other side at least looked like he wanted the ball and would try to do something when he got it. A couple of good runs second half could have led to another goal but unfortunately it never fell for us. Onien was wound up to the maximum every time the ball came anywhere near him he just tried to kick or head it as far as possible but I guess his remit was to keep Bannan quiet so I will let him off.

Bailey Wright was colossal at the back won even header and every tackle. Head and shoulders man of the match for me. Gooch worked his arse off as usual and got forward as often as he could. Corry Evans is now looking like the calm assured head in the middle that we thought we were getting so well done to him for turning it round. I thought Batth was relatively steady lost a few headers but made up for it with his block towards the end.

Cirkin scares he **** out of me. If we go up we will definitely need an upgrade here however in his defence similar to Gooch he never gives up and is always willing to recieve the ball so a valuable squad player.

Pritchard was lively for 15 minutes but in fairness to him apart from that we struggled to get the ball to him and he probably wasn't 100% fit.

Stewart again worked his arse off create our goal out of nothing purely as he is always willing to chase a lost cause which he did again towards the end just unfortunately couldn't find the finish. We need to go up to keep hold of him he will be a top end championship striker if we do.

Anyway I think that's everyone. The overall performance was decent the result was decent but think the subs should have been used 10/15 mins earlier as we clearly lost control of the game around 65/70 mins.

Finally I was happy with every player barring Jack Clarke. If I see him in Sunderland shirt again I'll be upset.

Harsh on Cirkin and Clarke imo. Gotta remember they're only bairns. Cirkin especially, only just turned 20 and playing his first season of senior football. Lots of room/time to improve.

For me Cirkin is a poor full back ability wise but his attitude is decent so I can forgive him to an extent. Clarke on the other hand is a talented footballer but when i see a player deliberately hiding from a pass making the game harder for his team mates as he's not trying to help them it upsets me. First half he was watching the ball in the air seeing where it was going and waiting for the Wednesday player to get there before he even moved hence to not have to put in a challenge or go for a 50/50 ball. He's got the heart of a mouse and is not mentally right for the next game or possibly 2

I agree with you regarding Clarke, very talented but doesn't seem to fancy the hard work that goes with it. He always seems to want to take on 2 or 3 men at once (not a bad attitude) but doesn't seem to see the easier free man standing all on his own. Also if he's playing on the left, I would like to try to go past his man once or twice a game rather than cutting back into his right foot all the time - it makes the defenders job so much easier if he's got an idea what he's going to do. But fair play to him and the other players last night, they played well, got a result and we're 1 foot closer to getting out of this ****ty League

My son was there again (7 games he’s been to this season, w6 d1) despite him being a “Man Utd fan”, he was ecstatic at the goal and absolutely loved the atmosphere. Could hardly talk at the end cos of singing and shouting!! Awesome

I bet you Luke is breathing a sigh of relief at that one. Also didn't Clarke lay the ball through for the goal and also set up Pritchard when he hit the bar? Cirkin is a young lad who always puts a shift in - and Ill get on the blower to AN re the subs

That's the thing that gets me, if an owner gets it even half right, then they get that and more.

We an easily pleased bunch, give us a team to be proud of that fight for the cm shirt and we will take the roof off

Cirkin will come good imo. He is a young lad, moved to the opposite end of the country, playing his first full season of men's footy in a tough league. Add in to that what we read about him losing his father then I'd say he is doing ok. He will be better next season for sure.

hmm, at present i would rather cirkin at left back than other options, only time clarke looked interested was when cirkin moved forward and 'pushed him on'.

not the finished article but i cant think of a time he has had a mare and cost us games, good lad to grow with the club i think...clarke on the other hand, had the look of someone who thought he had 'done his bit' and wanted to return home, leeds fans will not allow him much time if that is his attitude.

Clarke and Cirkin are a bad combination imo and are there to be exploited

Hope Cirkins missed header doesn't come back to haunt us.

Having said that overall I thought it was generally a decent display

Someone may have mentioned it already, i think the difference on Monday is that we have the better manager than they do. I hope AN stays for a while regardless of the result.
