Best controller for FIFA 12 (on the PC)?

Discussion in 'Tottenham Hotspur' started by Hoddle is a god, Oct 29, 2011.

  1. Just bought this game for the PC, and I must say that I'm very impressed with it. My last FIFA game was 07, and the software has moved on quite a bit. The controls are very different to what I was used to with 07, and my basic Saitek controller doesn't seem to fit the buttons described in the manual.

What's the best controller to use with this game? Anyone else play this on the PC who can help me?

I just play it on PS3 but I bought my nephew an adaptor for old PS2 controllers so he could use them on the PC. Only cost a couple of quid and I got rid of the old plug in pads. I'm sure you could get a PS2 pad second hand for pennies too, if you don't have one <ok>

I have no idea why someone would have a PC, and then buy a controller to use with it.

Half the point of having a PC is not having to put up with ridiculously bad controls.

I could say the exact same thing: Why would someone want to buy a Xbox when the GFX, audio and multi-functions of a PC beat an Xbox ten fold?

Wired 360 controller is the way to go.

HDMI cable to your 50' Plasma TV is the next purchase :)

  6. Oo! I think I have an old PS2 controller somewhere in the garage.

Can I get the adaptor from Maplins or PC World? Or is it an Ebay job?

  10. Went out today and bought a wired X-Box controller, and I must say it is fantastic!

I have the power of a PC-based system, but with the ease and comfort of an X-Box!

I've just started in CAREER mode as Spurs (of course) and have picked up Adriano for a mere £8,500,000. Will probably off-load Pinaar as surplus to requirements and bank the difference.

I don't like being Tottenham on FIFA careers, I like all our players too much so I'd never end up doing any transfers.

I'm close to the end of my first season with Stoke and my team is Begovic, Van Der Wiel(£8/9mill), Shawcross, Huth, Rose(£4.2m), Pennant, Palacios, Ramires(£9m), Seedorf(£2.5m), Dembele(£9m), Welbeck(£13.5m). A lot of players in but I funded the likes of Welbeck and Dembele by selling Crouch and Jones for £10m+ each. I still struggle with the new defending so I'm lower midtable at the moment and crashed out of the FA Cup at home to West Ham <doh>

  12. I've started an alternative career as boss of lowly Barnet, in League Two, and I am unbeaten in 15 games, so far. I'm also having a stonking time in the League Cup, beating both Norwich and Everton in successive rounds. I dare say that my giant-killing antics will come to an abrupt end when I draw United or City, as I am bound to do in the next round.

I made three cracking buys at the start of the season, getting in three strong young players, whilst shipping out four of my weaker older players. What's even better is that I picked them up as free agents, so didn't break into my transfer budget, which is a whopping £500,000! With the sales, It's now at around £750,000. The biggest constraint I have is that my wages bill is dreadfully low, such that I can't even get players in on loan, unless they are extremely average. I hope my transfer budget and my wages ceiling increase when I go up to League One.

Playing in the lower leagues is real fun. You can't use all the fancy trickery that you can with players such as Rooney or Messi, so you have to rely more on the basics, such as passing and moving. Defending also becomes more important, as you can't always relying on tonking teams 10-0 each game.
