Hmm, but we lost points after dominating against Norwich - so you could just as well argue they would be easy to gain next season. So yeah, kind of irrelevant imo.
Another “we won’t agree” but regardless, end of season league doesn’t lie, so let’s see …….. however I recall another discussion on here recently saying it does! I’ll leave it & think I’ll refrain from posting for a while. There’s always a lot of conjecture & difficult for me to argue against as we haven’t been relegated & had a few amazing results this season & one more would provide RH with keys to the city! COYS. Ps. and I think I’m blocked by quite a number already
We can certainly agree on that - just have to wait and see. Think real judgement will come if Ralph spends in the summer. And its fine to disagree, would be ****ing dull if everyone had the same opinion on here
Although I'm still very much in the 'Ralph in' camp, this is what we said last summer. We were pretty excited about the signings which many saw as upgrades on Bertie (Perraud), Vesty (Lyanco) and Ings (Adarma). The reality is that the larger squad, which should have made it easier to rotate, has just confused the situation since we no longer know our best 11. Maybe it's just part of our ongoing development. Watford at home showed just how bad we can be. Spurs away showed us just how good we can be. With more belief in themselves, they should achieve spurs type result on a much more regular basis even with the current squad.
Think you have hit the nail on the head @mowgli Belief and confidence. On our day we can (and have) matched and beaten the top team - and they weren't necessarily having a bad day. We seem to crumble in confidence too easily. Maybe it is Ralph's personality? Remember how positive Nigel Adkins was, and that rubbed off. "Don't get too high when we win, too low when we lose"
We definitely have more depth but I don’t recall anyone thinking we had upgraded our best 11 with those signings. Perraud is an upgrade on Bertrand I would say but that wasn’t known at the time. Lyanco/Vestergaard is a tie at best and Vestergaard of first half last season is a much better player than the Lyanco we’ve seen so far. And Ings obviously far better than A Armstrong. I would say that our first team has been downgraded from last year but our depth is definitely better. We haven’t had anywhere near the same level of injuries this year so we have had to rotate to keep everyone happy/give minutes which has potentially led to not having a settled side which may have contributed to some poor results. The noises being made so far is that we are going to be very active this window so with an already bloated squad it will be interesting to see what we do.
Our best run of form started with JWP suspended after Chelsea and Tino injured so KWP was on the right and Perraud on the right. The side was settled and picked itself.
I'm still Ralph in but it's only 60-40 now. I still think he deserves a chance with a refreshed squad but I wouldn't be upset if he left.
It really, really isnt. During our small purple patch, a number on here, think even you, questioned where are all the Ralph out people now. Our good form in the season really is the exception to the norm. How’d that one work out for all you?
Ralph relies on the high press as the primary tactic. 2 things appear to have happened. 1 as the season rolls on the team tire and cannot do it to the same level 2 its no longer a novel tactic, the majorty of the league do the high press now and teams are used to using it and also dealing with it. There isn't a plan B
Yeah, and this time next season (or even end of this one), we’d all be saying Ralph is gonna tear it up in the Championship It always seems to be a ‘well Ralph needs deadwood gone’ then he needs something else, etc. We say the same thing, I’m bored of it, but respect your views, and I hope your right btw…
I know, I was joking. I’m on the verge of changing myself. I think Ralph has lost control of the team. While that might not be altogether his fault, he has to take the rap.
