You are right. Better application of the rules. Trouble is the refs will eventually give a yellow for time wasting by the goalkeeper but then it continues and they don't then give a second.
Provided the ball is on the floor then it’s in open play and it’s game on. I always used to remember a referee in the Sunday leagues and when the goalkeeper had the ball in his hands the referee would shout 1 2 3 4 5 6 Kick. If the goalkeeper didn’t he just booked him.
Diving I don't like it and that's what I'd like to end more than anything else... Winning free kicks is what they renamed diving to make it sound like it was a positive thing. Essentially it's mental gymnastics
And it is positive when it’s for us and it’s Bruno. He doesn’t dive. He’s just clever at getting in the way of the ball. Real diving I agree needs stamped out. Like the Maddison dive.
They all do and I think it's ruined the sport.... I like end to end flowing football not stop start poncing around crying about the slightest touch. It is what it is, but i don't have to refer to diving as winning free kicks. I ain't that daft. How about tactical dives?
The test for diving should be would he/she have gone down on a cold December afternoon whilst shopping in Northumberland Street? That would sort the men/women from the boys/girls.
This is the worst football idea ive heard since someone suggested you should get 4 points for an away win.
Don't really need to do this now anyway. Home advantage seems less of a thing. I don't know whether it was something to do with playing with no crowds during COVID but there seem to many more Away wins now.
There are always teams that buck the trend but there are definitely more away wins now than there used to be. I know from scoring the Prediction League!
Think to beat City no point sitting back and trying to defend. They will inevitably get a goal and then get a few more. Best to go at them. Their weaknesses are in defence. So it will be either 2-1 to us or 7-0 to them.
I agree with this. Teams turning up for a “clever” point are basically asking for trouble like lambs to the slaughter. I don’t understand why teams try that crap against them. It just makes life easier for Man City. It’s a free hit so go for them.
