Whatever it is it's money long budgeted for and largely long spent so it isn't coming back. Just enjoy the show.
Look I don’t write these stories I just look for them and pass them on, there is not one that says it didn’t cost £120m for a light show in 6 places, now to me that’s £20m a City or virtually £3m a night, pick it apart all you want but that’s a massive brown envelope for some ****. https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/the-festival-of-brexit-wastes-120-million-of-public-money/
I’m back on Twitter, much better quality of disagreements on there, all you get on here is ****wits saying your wrong
Remember the millennium dome rip off , companies paid to put in displays , one got hundreds and of people to provide photos of themselves which they stuck to backdrops -and I think they got hundreds of thousands if not a million pounds or more for f*** all We’ve just paid excel arena £4.5 k to hang two circular banners from their ceiling for a commercial show it took them a cherry picker and two guys for two hours ! The people placing these orders have no concept of value so often - and these ‘specialists display people know it’
Except your own Wikipedia article, that you linked to, says it didn’t cost £120m just for the light show. It says that it’s £120m on 10 different projects, one of which is the lights show that visits 4 places. You can dislike it all you like and it’s not really worth getting into the politics, but it’s NOT £3m a night.
It certainly wasn’t badged as a Brexit event when it was funded and announced. It was actually funded to be a celebration of UK & NI to ‘strengthen the Union’ (I accept Brexit was a big reason for thinking it needed strengthening) https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-northern-ireland-45697248 It was only Mogg that then after that said it was the ‘Festival of Brexit’ …some people for some bizarre reason listened to him. As for it not being well attended I went yesterday at 9.30 and there wasn't enough room to even get in Vicky Sq as there were so many people, so we had to wait and get in to watch the 10.00 showing instead. I’m not saying it should have been commissioned in the first place, maybe it shouldn’t, but it was and once it had been I wouldn’t not go to see it to make a point about Brexit personally. It was really good.
It isn’t ****ing dozens and be picky if you want, it’s still money siphoned off the taxpayer for Brexit and dressed up in another name, a waste of our, my money, shove the light show, it looks crap anyway
