Reckon we could get something off Arsenal at home, depending on how they go in their next two matches.
Talking of Refs (well only me really) Big Fwank Frank Lampard: Everton manager charged for post-match 'penalty' comments https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61326212 Lampard suggested a penalty would have been given if the challenge had been made on a Liverpool player. ================================================================================= Seems Frank was upset cause the ref doesn't give little teams pens against the Top 6 the ref that day ----- STUART ATWELL
Yeah, there's literally nothing stopping City winning that match and do you want Trips' first run out to be against people like Stirling?
I would definitely start Trippier. It was a broken bone so not as if he might aggravate it. To be honest would start Wilson as well. Easier to work into pace of game than coming on with 20mins left. Can still substitute him after 30mins if he can’t play a full half.
I wouldn't. Risk vs Reward, what reward is there to risking these players now? We don't need them to win games, and we aren't playing for much right now except a few extra points. If we really needed them to fight relegation or for a Europa spot or something, then ok, but we aren't really fighting for much right now. I know the mindset should be that we fight for as many points as possible, but you have to calculate the reward vs the risk. Is bringing back either of these players this season worth the risk? I don't think it is.
There is no risk with Trippier, apart from picking up another injury, but that could happen anytime anyway. Wilson - no point saving him. He is just as likely to break down in his first match back whenever you play him.
Do you not think they're more likely to get injured again if played soon after an injury? I'd say the closer you are to a previous injury, the more likely you are to get injured again as you may aggravate and old one. Being passed fit to play doesn't necessarily mean you're fully recovered, it just means you're recovered enough to be usable. I see no point risking them now when we have proven we don't need them to win games and aren't really playing for anything really significant anymore. There's literally no point in risking them this season.
Agree with Wilson as his are muscle tears and strains which if not completely healed are weaker and run risk of tearing again. With Trippier it was a broken bone so less likely to be issues and easy to tell if healed anyway. Argument with Wilson is there is no point in saving him - he is permanently prone to injury anyway. Get them both in the team and give management a chance to see how we perform at full strength. Wilson sounds like he is champing at the bit to play. He wont be happy being told he has to wait another 2months to play competitively again.
