    Interesting:

Russia may have lost two years worth of tank production, one year's supply of aircraft, and several years' worth of missile production since the invasion began.

And it's not like they can increase funding to build more now that they've burnt bridges with the west for Energy exports.

China isn't a very reliable ally. China ok with Ukraine because they want to take Taiwan, and islands from Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, etc.

China is politely looking the other way because they want to do exactly what Russia is trying to do, take land from weaker neighbours.

It's China's open policy. They repeatedly have said they plan to take Taiwan back. Also their nine dash line policy is open policy that they publicly acknowledge. Look at who controls territory currently within the nine dash line.

No China conspiracy theories... This is their actual announced policy.

Think its a global thing. Indonesia is one of the biggest palm oil producers and exporters and we had a few weeks where there wasn't any cooking oil available, except the expensive Sunflower ones and coconut oil. The president eventually threw a wobbly as he didnt like his coconut-flavouredchips and told the palm oil producers to stop exporting and meet domestic needs first. As we account for 50% of the world supply that has probably caused a worldwide shortage and prices will be shooting up.

Apparently the shortage was due to poor crops and a labour shortage due to COVID but there was talk that local producers were deliberately holding it back to force up prices. Probably doesn't help that Palm Oil plantations are one of the main factors in rain forest destruction which is seen as a major factor in increased carbon dioxide levels.

Anyway we have loads here now. If anyone needs any I am back in UK in two weeks time and am taking orders.

I once watched Medicine Man with Sean Connery and since then I love rainforests so that's a no from me.

I also suggest being a muslim, trying to transport highly infammable liquids on an aircraft beyond the 100ml may not be such a great idea <laugh>

Btw like Aberdude I only use rapeseed oil. Good for the ol' arterieoseo's.

Its pretty disgusting that we are cutting down virgin rain forest to plant trees to make cooking oil.

There's a superb Netflix Series on the Worlds Great National parks, narrated by Barack Obama. There is one general episode and then an episode each on Chilean Patagonia, Tsavo in Kenya, Monterey in the States and Gunung Leuser in Sumatra. They make you realise the value of protecting these places and also give some great holiday ideas.

I only use rapeseed (or Canola as they call it in America because they don't want to say rape <laugh>) for my chainsaw bar oil. It's a great chain lubricant (as long as you don't let it sit too long).

I don't know, but as a pure guess I'd imagine so. You may need to apply it more often than synthetic or petroleum based oils.

I know with chainsaws it's supposed to be as good as specialty chainsaw bar oils as long as there is no temperature extremes. You're constantly relubricating the bar with oil on a chainsaw though. (Which is why I prefer it to other stuff... Don't want to be spreading nasty oil all over my woods).

Rapeseed oil will gum up if left for a long time, so you would need to repeatedly reapply would be my guess.

I cycle down an old Railway track and the dirt and dust gather on the chain and in the oil .
    It's a twat to clean .
Tried that dry oil but chain started going rusty quick

According to these folk, it would only work if you regularly clean your chain (every week or two) and reapply. Assuming you don't do that or don't want to do that, it's probably not the best choice.
