Real Madrid are kind of like a more world class version of Ole's Man Utd from last season imo. All the stats would point to a Liverpool win against them, but they showed last night that they are clinical when it matters. They've had such an amazing run that I almost wouldn't begrudge them winning it, though I really hope we do.
Jonathan Woodgate on 5 live............'What a game of football, probably the best I've ever seen' Jesus wept
Can't help but laugh at City. They are destined to never win the CL. I am glad that we're facing Real because a) City are the tougher opponents, b) City can't win it and c) the world wants to see LFC vs Real (no one cares about City). On paper, we are stronger than Real. But as we constantly see, they have a knack of finding ways to win especially in the CL. They have some special voodoo when it comes to this tournament and no doubt they will get some favourable decisions go there way. Real have had a tough route to the final but there is a constant theme - they have been poor in the majority of each of those matches but then find a spell where they turn it around which typically happens when they take off Modric / Kroos / Casemiro and bring on the young guns. Something we need to be mindful of.
yeah, my thoughts are that there is no second leg here and we will overrun them early on - just hope we’re clinical
real will be a big challenge. first they know how to win second anchelotti has a great record v klopp (in general) third real can take chances thought the nasty scumbag benzema. If we can blow them off the park it'll be good. What i saw last night. a) milatao is very lazy at getting good body shape, he could play us onside or get caught easily in a good high press. b) courtois is not good on the ball. he will help our press c) their whole right hand side had absolutely zero pace. they offered no threat there d) casimerio is a liability. If you get a good ref and not one who is so concerned with no red cards that he allows 2 obvious yellows to go unpunished.... IMO the game will be won or lost of ref selection. Get a pciky one that induldges every flop and throws yellows at honest tackles and we will struggle. Give us that italian ref or the ref we got second leg and we win. The ref we got first leg v villareal was a total joke for a SF.
The Unit predicted that Real would score one in normal time and one in injury time, then go on to score the winner in extra time. She also said we would score with the final corner of the game when Alisson scored that brilliant header. She's doing the ****ing lottery this weekend
dangerous game. Remember rafa in 2007. he did this and we played a pure bag of ****e cos we dropped off the level and couldn't go hit the gorund running. 3 weeks off just training is just not the same a splaying games. We get a week between final league game and the CL final. or 6 days at least? its enough. I just think if you take the foot off its hard to get the gas back on.
Let’s hope so but I doubt it The are an ageing experienced team They will be up for it We need to be right up for it too
Liverpool has now done a double. Won the Lancashire Senior Cup yesterday beating Burnley in the final. The quintuple is on....
This for me too. Its one game. And we definitely have the tools to destroy them in a 1st half 20mins 5 goal blitz. Start must be 100 mile an hour, I wanna see people hunting the ball like the barca 2nd leg. We do that and we will have way too much for them.
Your first point cannot be underestimated - this is a Real side that is used to playing on the big stage, and definitely are't fazed by it. Whilst our lads have been in a few finals, we can tend to look nervy (which is understandable) but Real on the other hand always look at home. We just need to play our game, and not let the occasion get to us.
Agree with this. The 3 week break in the 2019 season was imo the reason why our final against Spurs was so lame from a neutral POV
