Getting back to the topic in hand, the below stat is why I want us to keep Ralph: We're pretty darned good against the top 6 clubs despite the odd hammering or three. We just need to be able to break teams down who sit back. Which is where a new number 10 brought in over the summer would come in handy.
And conversely, take 4 pts away, say Arsenal & MC away & we’d be ****ting ourselves this weekend. Yep ifs but something has to improve next year.
A marmite (pronounced [maʁmit]) is a traditional crockery casserole vessel found in France. It is famed for its "pot-belly" shape. Seemed appropriate for this thread.
That is irrelevant as if you take off 4 points from most teams around us, palace, brentford, villa etc they'd be in the **** too. We spend less than any one in the league aside from Norwich yet for some reason the likes of Gerrard, Frank and Viera have done well yet Ralph hasn't. If you added 4 points on then we would have our eye on a top 8 finish. So maybe something does need to change, Ralph get to spend anything like his peers and he can then get just the few more points needed to climb the division.
There's also the possibility of Ralph retiring when his contract ends in 2024. So after a summer window and pre season with new owners 2022/23 will be when we should expect progress.
Agreed, in a season how many points have we felt we dropped - Brighton home (2 points and gave them one), I would say Newcastle home as if played at correct time then that was 3 for us and the list goes on. We are where we are
Also, what we do is, earn enough points to stay up as quick as possible, and then give up. So, if we didn't get those 4 points in those games, we'd have got them soon enough anyway.
Not irrelevant. This was directly related to Saints gaining points against the top 6 so much easier to lose.
Well, I’m still very on the fence with Ralph, which I’m sure he will be interested in. Im really hoping we play great the last few games, as if it stays as the current limp ****, I’m not sure I can put up with it much longer. That said, i will support him if still here in August, Just he will only have 6 or 7 games next season to turn it around.
