And NO ONE still in that commentary team has mentioned his fck up tonight with the KDB sub.

It's unreal. He gets a pass from the pundits.

I used to admire his attacking style but he's disappeared up his own arse.

I watch him in certain games and I don't think he actually enjoys the game like he used to 10 years ago.

There was no game management from them. None. No passing the ball around, making Madrid run. No taking it to the corner flag to waste time and gain territory, no looking for cheap fouls etc. The basics we all learned at school. Wasn't there.

Wasn't there against us in the QF 3 years ago either and so he managed to lose to a Spurs side without Kane and a crocked Wanyama propping up the midfield. They were ahead a grand total of 13 minutes across both legs in that tie.

Remarkable how little he learned from that game and how little he gets criticised for it.

I expect City to roll their sleeves up now and win the rest of their league games

it’s what they do

or will this shatter them mentally and they flop in a game or two out and hand it to the Pool?
Nah it won’t effect them in the league
Pep won’t do anything as mad as that
They just have a block in CL
They fell apart In what - About 10mins ?

His city team play good football BUT when you inherit Debruyne, Fernandinho, Silva, Aguero, Kompany and Stirling...then spend just under a billion pounds in just 6 years and still not win the one trophy that you were brought it in to win then you are ultimately a failure.

His spending is unprecedented and without it he wouldn't have dominated in the Premier League but even then they are struggling to stay ahead of Liverpool.

Have you heard how relatively small Liverpool's net spend is?

Still in Barca mode imo. I remember a quote from his back before the 2009 final when he said something like "it doesnt matter what the opposition do we just play our attacking football".

All fine and well when you've got the best team in the world with players that will never be rivalled but come on ffs!

And btw what you said about the game management was true in both legs. Should NEVER have finished 4-3. It weren't just this game he fcked up.

This was my thoughts, why were they not running the clock down, it was exactly what Madrid did when they took the lead. Instead Grealish was still going forward to get another goal, he was unlucky not to score, twice! but in the end it was a tactic that cost City their place in the final.

<laugh>

Saff's right, you've gone full tonto after bricking yourself for 90 mins <laugh>
Literally everyone on here but the Liverpool familys dreams (this means more btw) have been dashed tonight.<laugh>

The resulting butthurt and passive aggressive non butthurt has reached critical levels. Saff's spunked his load earlier suck was his worry... And he was right to worry<laugh>

I only disagree with the first part. Regardless of who won, which team played the more enjoyable brand of football in both legs? For me, it was Real Madrid.

I'd take Carlo's brand of footie over Pep's (and Klopp's for that matter) every day of the week.

I enjoyed the way both teams played/ play to be honest, as I do Klopp’s style. Helps when you’ve got the players too.

His first season with City he also said something along the lines of about how he don’t coach the defending…

And it shows. City’s defenders are naturally very good with the ball but as outright defensive players? Basic as ****. The moment any team counter attacks City or puts them on the back foot, their backline ****s a brick.

I meant more the two legs against us in 2019.

There couldn't have been an easier time to face us as Kane went off injured early in the first leg and missed the second leg entirely, yet there wasn't really a single point where City just put their foot on the ball and controlled the game. Even when they went 4-2 up (and 4-3 on agg), it always seemed a matter of when rather than if Spurs would score again, which we did. A truly gifted manager 4-2 up at home with half an hour left would have killed the game off, done. They could have passed us off the pitch. We had a midfield of a crocked Wanyama and Sissoko. They simply chose not to.

Even Ole knew that <whistle>

Yep. Both of Rodrygo’s goals could’ve been defended much better.
