It's The Sun. Until The Athletic/The Telegraph/someone reliable report it I'm not too concerned. So far it's all been in the tabloids which are about as accurate as a blind man throwing a dart. It's not exactly breaking news that Pep is a fan of JWP. He's called him the best FK taker in the world. Doesn't mean City would be willing to spend that much on him.
It’s far more likely to be a Man City smokescreen to get United to pay a massive amount for a player City don’t even really want. Like with Sánchez, Fred and (I think) Maguire
The thing with Prowsey is that he could possibly be likened to James Milner. He just brings “something” to a team that you can’t really define, but you always know that he will give 100%
Spurs wouldn’t match our value IMO. Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is keen on bolstering his squad with the summer signings of Southampton's England midfielder James Ward-Prowse, 27, and Brighton's Spainleft-back Marc Cucurella, 23. (Fichajes - in Spanish)
Return of the “player plus cash including Winks” talk. Put a stop to them by saying the player has to be Skipp before we even open discussions. Then they will go quickly They’ve only got us before because some of our players have strongly pushed to go there. They don’t pay big fees. For example it was telling during the Toby saga that they were shopping for bargains in our price range rather than the one the Manchester clubs shop in
I can see JWP going to a Spurs like club though. Good respected manager and aspirations of a top 4 finish. If Kane is still there, it will and his World Cup plans and also he would get more game time and patience from Spurs over City/Utd/Liverpool.
I agree, but I reckon they would agitate a move enough for him to think about it and us to say yes for around £40m
Unlikely this summer. We know he’ll be professional and he’s just a year into his new deal. If he’s leaving this summer it will be big money. If we hold until next summer it would drop to £40m range. I’ve said for ages he’s a hard player to replace. Monster goal involvements at a lower table club and he does a lot of hard work off the ball too. I’m surprised that he hasn’t really been chased sooner but there was a lot of “potential” about him until he really found his role.
God yes. Very much so. I don’t wish to be mean about Jan, but he absolutely feels like he’s at the end of his cycle with us. A move would be good for both parties now.
