It would've been much easier to sit here and watch it all on the big screen with a few beers ..

... but a packed SOL under floodlights, for a match like this, could be one of those games we talk about for years.

The 5-0 thrashing actually happened despite how Wednesday downplay it, no reason we can't repeat that performance.

In that game we didn't have Broadhead available and had two makeshift full backs.

Sheff Wed, despite their 'ravaged by Covid claims', had Banana and 'danger man' Gregory starting but only managed three on target efforts.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59764932

They recently needed a dodgy penalty to beat Crewe at home, who'd already been relegated.

So, yes it'll be a tough game, but no reason we can't win. I think a two goal lead would be enough as we'll score down there.

Haway the Lads, 2-0 and we're on our way to Wembley!!!

Wish I was as confident as you Smug - couldn't sleep last night and kept thinking about every scenario from a 6-0 home win to a 6-0 defeat to winning and losing the final. This is actually purgatory!!

As of now, so a couple of thou sold in last 18 hours. Not sure if this includes away fans and hospitality etc. Only single seats left apart from row 2 in South Stand for some reason. Be a big crowd anyway, should be fun!

Listened to a few podcasts last couple of days, the way folk bang on about Bannan you'd think he was better than De Bryune.

Cheers @RTB, bet you hoped to be on the beach by now. Nevertheless, the playoffs is a great way to get promoted.

I think 2 legged afairs are always hard to predict. Away goals do not count meaning the temptation for the away team to sit in first leg is even greater. I wonder how brave Moore is here. He has a team that should want to play on the front foot, but I think he may put the handbrake on. If he does that then I think our crowd can be massive and get the lads firing from the off. An early goal and Sheff Wed will have to respond but the crowd might just keep us going.

I have said for a while we have a coach who is arguably better than others at plotting individual games. I think he has the edge here and will have the full 180 minutes planned, and no doubt two separate starting teams for each game.

I would love to have a few minutes with the players to let them know how much this means to the fans. I think Embo, Patterson, Neil might just be getting round the players this week telling them. I am predicting Embo to be the main man over the next 3 games.

Great thread as always. I think this one will be very tight. I'm going 2-1 to us and I think the second leg will be close as well.
Got a feeling it will be Evans, Matete and Onien in midfield with Pritchard supporting Stewart. I hope Broadhead is fit but not too sure on that one, if he isn't 100% for this leg then I wouldn't want him breaking down and missing the second leg and a potential final.

Already have mate, not all of it but a lot of the blocks above the West stand are sold out I believe. Probably have to sell some more blocks up there soon, could be pretty much full house allowing for segregation etc.

Nottingham Forest 2-5 Yeovil Town, May 2007 – Your boys took one hell of a beating

Going to the City Ground and turning over a 2-0 deficit in front of an expectant Forest crowd, who would be out in force to see their side begin their climb back up the leagues, would be tough if not impossible.

Im going for a 2-1 home win.

Just a great shame if Broadhead doesn't play. He could have made all the difference

Just in case you didn’t know it’s on Sky at 7:30 on Friday and away leg at 7:30 on Monday.

Bannan didn't train with Sheff Wed today.

Which means he's either crocked or hoping a rest will get him on the pitch.

They seem to believe they can only win if he plays.

    That's the wrong attitude imo.

Maybe he could rest up, start on Friday, suffer a reoccurrence and come off injured then miss Monday. <cheers>

    HA'WAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM

I'm on bastid night shift as fookin usual .
But off for the midweek game and the final, finger's crossed we make it .

I'm pretty calm. What will be will be.
We've as good a chance as any and we've a good record under Alex Neil . He's made us hard to beat and we are getting some luck our way for a change.
Hopefully we can turn up and do the business for the remaining games.
