Koch wouldn’t stay Ristac, he’s a German international and class when played in his correct position.
I get what you are saying but let’s assume Meslier, Firpo, Koch, Llorente, James, Bamford, Phillips, Rodrigo and Raphinha all asked to leave. No way would the club sanction that. Some of those responsible will be told knuckle down.
I hear what your saying, BUT if a player or in this day and age a greedy agent walks in and slaps a transfer request in then 9 out of 10 times they go, I did like how Daniel Levi fkd Kanes agent off and made him stay.
Don’t agree. I’ll bet they all have release clauses in their contracts to allow them leave plus even with parachute payments I can’t see the club paying pl wages to anyone if relegated except probably orta and Kinnear of course
I think most player contracts now have a wage clause in them , that if the club go down , so does their wage, as it goes the other way when they are promoted. A lot will depend then on what player is happy to go along with that and not throw in a transfer request and then for the club what fee they would get for the player. I think the nucleus of the Championship team will remain, even on reduced wages, they possibly wouldn't get better elsewhere anyway. As for the foreign contingent, that's a different scenario.
I I don't have a problem about some defenders leaving if we go down. . We need a classy midfielder and another striker. Rodrigo should go and bamford not lead the line. Bamford would be better at ten.
I put 10 not a winger playing with another striker. Much the same position rodrigo plays when james is pretend striker.
No doubt a few might have one but Radz and 49ers will want a swift return, they wouldn’t allow a situation where every player could walk. It also depends on the release fee, take Rodrigo, James and Firpo and we’ll compare them to the one issue we know seems true… We are fairly certain we paid around £18m for Raphinha and he has a relegation release clause it would seem of £25m If James, Firpo and Rodrigo have clauses that are even £5m above what we paid for them who in their right mind would activate the fee? Most of these contracts were set when we were flying high on our first season back We have been told Phillips has no release clause so we know not everyone does. If Koch has one and asks to leave we use Struijk or Cresswell
It doesn't even matter a jot if a player has a release clause or not. If a pl club is interested they'll move simple as that. Anyway how often have you seen it written, if they don't want to play for Leeds, let them feck off. On the wages thing remember a sizeable amount of our lads earnings was made up of that pending 48m bonus due if we stay up so other clubs will be well able to match the mages if they want
He may prove class in the right league, and now he's apparently beefed up he might still potentially cut it in the premier league, but whilst he's comfortable on the ball and looks a footballer, he's done nothing at leeds at centre back to demonstrate he has what it takes. He wasn't up to it defensively and to be fair to him, reading between the lines of his comments in a recent interview, he kind of acknowledged that. It would make sense for all parties for him to leave if we go down and potentially if we don't. I'm sure he could get a gig in the Bundesliga and give him a chance of making the national squad for the world cup.
yup, but it's fair to say that irrespective of this, anyone signed for the premiership (or with contracts renegotiated whilst in the premiership) will most likely have a relegation release clause (certainly the higher profile players) as a quid pro quo for reduced wages in the championship
As Ristac said though it's the amount of any release clause that's key. What's your best guesstimate on the following; (mine in brackets) Rodrigo (15m) Firpo (10m) Koch (10m) Llorente (12m) James (20m) Hopefully they either don't have release clauses or they higher than my estimates.
The Championship is tough as we know and personally I think that team lacks the experience to deal with it, all would be in thecsquad but not necessarily starters
Standard release clauses are normally high - like Chris woods' its basically compensating the selling club. Relegation release clauses are typically low... they're a get out clause for the player. My best guess is your release clauses are low for a standard release clause and probably close to the mark for relegation clause. Just guesswork though. Risty was saying no-one would pay 5 million for rod, firpo and james. I'd say no-one wouldn't pay that - even for firpo. James would still command a significant fee at his age.
Didn't know that but when you look at the u23's they probably have 25-30 first team appearances between them. We need to pick the best 4 or 5 for the match day squad and buy proven championship experience if the worst happens.
As stated earlier we need to keep the same squad together. Rodrigo, Phillips & Raphinha will be the three to go which will bring in approx £100M. With that sort if cash coming in plus parachute payments we actually might buy a midfielder at the 10th time of asking. What the f*ck am I thinking, it will be back to loans only of course.
