I reckon it will be a free transfer keeper. 2 cb's as 1 will be retiring, and 1 needs shot in a drone over moscow. 1 cm and 1 stiker probably 2. Will probably stick with what we have winger wise.
We can't buy in every position and with Fraser picking up form, ASM, Miggy and Murphy we have cover and if Howe can continue to improve the current crop of players these are probably the positions that are bottom of the priority. Granted if we can pick up Dybala on a free he can play as a winger.
Fraser can't seem to stay fit, Murphy isn't good enough, Miggy and ASM are both hit and miss, I think we definitely need at least 1 right sided winger
Nufc need ams much better than that shower of ****e and better han max too Right now we've got Dubs Targett Gamireas Max Wilson All the rest are either ****e or squad fillers
Murphy is a player I can't wait to see the back of... He's ****e.... Tries things and 99 out of 100 go wrong then he pulls one off and people say he's coming good. He's ****e
Well I'll eat my hat if 2 signings aren't Paquetta and Ekitike - There's probably £80-90m lets chuck in a freebie centre half - Luis Felipe is available and another in the region of £20m - £40m, a freebie Keeper, there's almost £130m.
Striker Centre Back Right Wing They are the priorities for me. Dubs Trips Schar (new CB) Targett (or other) Joelinton Bruno Willock (new RW) (new St) ASM of course we need more, i'd like an upgrade on Willock and have him as a squad player, but it depends how much we can do in each window.
Onana - Ajax Keeper - Free Felipe - Lazio's Brazilian CB - Free De Vrij - Inter Centre Back - Transfer listed for £20m Paquetta Lyon CM/ACM - £50-60m Dybala - Juve - ST/RW - Free Ekitike - Reims - St - £30m
Striker porn! Darwin Nunez is the holy ****in grail, not sure my opinions on Calvert-Lewin, was on fire at the start of last season then faded significantly, and his injury record this season is a concern. Schtik's record is good, Scamacca's less so.
Love the idea, but this one isn't going to happen or Man United are in for him. The player turned down West Ham in January. Although he just switched agents about a month and the agent said he's joining a new project in the premier league. I assuming the new project is the new project at man united not newcastle.
I agree. I just don't rate Fraser. He works hard but he doesn't seem to be capable of, or interested in, taking men on. Murphy had one good spell at wingback but couldn't keep it going. I actually think he is more incisive than Fraser and might keep him as a utility player. You can't use Fraser anywhere else as he is a certified midget. I would like to see Almiron play a bit more as I think he is inherently more skillful than either Fraser or Murphy but doesn't have much end product either. In fact we seem to have a surplus of attacking midfielders who lack end product and we either need to work on the ones we have got (St Maximin and probably Almiron) or get rid. Think Guimares and Paqueta (if GG is definite he is coming) would allow Shelvey to move on and maybe add one more central midfielder who can replace or complement them. Upfront we could do with a durable version of Wilson and I think Wood just doesn't fit our style of play. If we have to play a **** player like Fraser to get the best out of another mediocre player (Wood) then we are getting in a bit of a mess. Think the days of big strikers are done now - fast and mobile is where it's at. Defensively we need another good centre back. Goalkeeper - plenty of other areas to strengthen before that.
Different ends of the spectrum though. DCL is on an upward trajectory in the last couple of years. This has stalled this season with a bad injury. Players develop afterall, and he is a prime example. He's only just turned 25 so if the injury hasn't left a lasting mark you could expect him to enter his best years now. DCL can rightfully claim to have been one of the better strikers in the league over the last couple of seasons. I'm not sure Wood can ever claim that, but I must say I think Wood has been a good signing. The lack of goals does not detract too much from him being vital in us changing our style of play to press higher. He could still be getting better but not at the same rate as a younger player like DCL. The injury is a concern though because he has looked well shy of his best. I wouldn't take him to the World Cup at this stage for instance, which says just how much he's struggled since coming back, because he was an absolute shoe in previously. I think he's an Eddie type player though, modern striker with a few strings to his bow. I'd back Howe to return him to his best.
That doesn't detract from the fact our fans made assumptions about Howe and got on his back. They assumed he didn't have the capacity for change. They assumed he was as limited as Benitez and Bruce, would pick his favourites. Many were saying the club had dropped a massive clanger appointing him. He was labelled just another English/FA disaster product. Howe has proved them massively wrong. Regardless what happens from hereon in, the bloke has produced one of the greatest escapes in the history of PL football.
