Apparently we're interested in Raffick Halliche from Fulham, He's Algerian and A Defender? http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7272324/?ref=nf
is this the one where we pay £10squillion and then after one game loan him to a french division 3 side?
He's only played once for Fulham, when he gave away a penalty for bringing down Mackail-Smith in a cup game against Peterborough. Benfica, Fulham and Swansea all thought he was good enough to sign, so he must have something about him. Though this does look like one of those 'pick some random clubs to add to the story' type articles.
Could be exactly what we need to replace Hobbs !!! We need a defender who can head a ball and look a threat from set pieces. I think we need a player in all 3 positions. Tall Defender to replace Hobbs who has aerial presence. Hard Man Midfielder Tall, Pacey YOUNG striker.
Just not my cup of tea matey, he's looked very weak at times with Chester often having to cover for him. His passing is embarassing, cannot defend balls in the air and no threat going forward from set pieces. Why else do you think we've been linked with this Algerian?
There's zero chance of Hobbs being dropped for a bloke who's single start in English football led to a penalty being given away and him being put up for sale. You do come out with some nonsense sometimes, he's only ever scored one league goal and that was in the Algerian league ffs. He might be good, he might not, frankly I've no idea, I've never heard of the bloke, but the Hobbs/Chester partnership is certainly not going to broken up for some inexperienced Algerian that we probably have no interest in anyway.
Chill Mr OLM, I'm entitled to my OWN opinion, I dont rate Hobbs one little bit !!! Can you tell me why we have been linked with any DEFENDER then? I also think you talk tripe at times and please remember, your not always right !!!
You are entitled to your own opinion, I don't think Hobbs is a patch on Chester either, but suggesting we're looking to replace him with some unheard of Algerian just because Sky wanted to throw a few names into the hat in an article about him, is a bit lame. I definitely talk tripe at times, though I am always right.
I think Hobbs is a good defender, his main problem is he plays alongside the" best defender in the division" (thought I'd some hyperbole since extreme statements always win arguments!).
Benfica bought him and loaned him to Nacional da Madeira. There he made the team almost every game. He's a tough central defender, plays hard everytime. I think he could do a better job than Hobbs.
You don't have the 2nd best defensive record in the league with a crap defender in the back four. The defence is only as good as its weakest link, which makes Hobbs pretty decent.
Nah, he IS the weak link. He was at fault at Bristol City for the equalising header and caught out a lot of other times too and he is turd in the air and no ability to pass a ball. Far better options out there.
I hope so, I sincerely do !!! Still got a long way to go to win me over though. I think he is more capable of dropping a MASSIVE Clanger thats costs us games (BRISTOL)
