Tonight sees the reopening of Koko (formerly the Camden Palace) about 3 years after a massive fire destroyed the upper floors. The best of good luck to it. We need all the venues we can keep in London. I hope to get along there soon. Currently, The Beat on 3 July looks favourite.
I've been trawling the venue and gig listings for suitable nights out this summer...to very little effect. We've got tickets for Rebellion that I've held over since 2020 and can't make the Stone Valley South Festival, because of Mrs B's insistence on attending the street party for the Jubilee. Other than those, there's precious little going on - especially since The Beat at Koko is sold out already...until this morning...when bless their hearts, The Damned have announced 3 warm up dates prior to Glastonbury. It just so happens that they're the day before, the actual day and lastly, 2 days after a certain person's 60th birthday. Sounds ideal, up to the point that they're in tiny venues in Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Bath...for a band who haven't played live in two and a half years, with a sizeable fan base. Tickets are going to be scarce, but my need is significant and they will be mine...
I'm already in the doghouse for spending my 'birthday money' on the world's most outrageous suit. Still, at least it'll have somewhere to go, now...
My very square older brother's wife said that it makes me look like a children's entertainer. The man himself said I look like a **** in it...
Oh that took me back , I had a pair of crepe soled pony skin boots that I brought from Kent market back in the late 70s , I live in those babys and it was a sad day when they went in the bin
I try to...and it's hard to be miserable wearing something that mad. The question is what colour to dye my barnet to set it off to best effect? The kids reckon green again. Currently, it's a VIBRANT pink.
1. The Enfield cat thief of a few years ago is duly identified. 2. Old Punk rockers never die, they just inherit their dads' Ted suits.
