Bit cliche but important to not let them get a head of steam up in first 15 mins. we don’t need to score (would be nice) but just quieten down the crowd and super important not to concede early.
we need to break their spirit with a goal or 2. sit back and we invite disaster. We need to go hit these and score the first couple of chances and end the tie. ne personal glory **** here. hit the target. thier crowd will be well up for this.
You have to go back to last year to find a game where we did not score (the ****ing Leicester game in December ) Confident we will score at least one tonight
More meant we don’t need to score early. But yeah I guess in theory we don’t need to score either. Thing is 2-0 is dangerous shoreline. Opposition have nothing to lose especislly in a cup game. Doesn’t matter if they lose 3-0 4-0 etc
Well, the hospital has seen fit to shove a tube up my nose and into my stomach. It's uncomfortable and makes it difficult to eat. I'm looking for something to cheer me up so this game better be it.
There's a huge difference between sitting at home on a lead in the second leg knowing you can turn the crowd on and thrown on subs if you need to and playing away from home with the crowd on your back. You've no favours coming from refs or from var here so really 2-0 is a ok score but 90 mins means you have to play the game like its 0-0 and do exactly what you'd do to not concede but attack. Really want to break this lot early and make them cry.
Although pre-match statements always claim we won't, we do have a tendency to sit back on a first-leg lead. It really bothers me when we start off slowly in any game. Although recently we've still managed to stay in control I can't help but be reminded of a few years ago when we'd almost inevitably struggle after a lethargic start.
we did the same v roma in 2018/19. we won 5-2 at home and when over there and almost cocked it up 2-4. crazy. going away with a lead requires focus and intnet. By all means knock it about but have intent as the worst thing in the world we do is aimlessly pass without any intent to go past a CM. half the team enters a comana and inevitably we end up facing the wrong way in a bad position deep in our own half. the best pressure on a side is us pinning their players back and wokring with intensity.
I think we should let them score the first three goals, just to make things interesting, and then turn around and score three of our own.
