Good Morning. It's Tuesday 3rd May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Dallas has significant damage to his knee cap Specialist knee surgeon Jamie Arbuthnot has expressed his concern about any ligament damage Stuart Dallas may have sustained to his right knee following the devastating injury he sustained on Saturday evening. Arbuthnot revealed that a lot will depend on how far up the femur, the break occurred. If the fracture is close to his knee, that doesn't bode well for Dallas. The Northern Ireland International was seen clutching his knee following the incident. An update from Phil Hay last night revealed Dallas had 'significant damage to his knee cap'. “He’s got his foot planted when it happens, so the ligaments are what you’d automatically be wary about,” “But a lot will depend on exactly where the femoral fracture is and how close it is to the knee itself — whether it’s low down the bone and going into the joint, or whether it’s mid-shaft." "That will dictate exactly what they’re looking at. “The femur’s a very strong bone, so generating the kind of force to fracture it tends to take something like a vehicle collision or a bad fall. You see it in cyclists, too, but the more serious tend to come from car crashes, from that really severe impact. Because the femur’s a very big bone, it can take a long time to heal. A finger bone can take four to six weeks. Your wrist can take six to eight weeks. The femur’s very different.” please log in to view this image The next 19 days will shape Leeds Utd's future It's hard to believe, but the Premier League season comes to an end in just 19 days time. A campaign that offered so much, has failed to deliver, and Leeds find themselves perilously close to the drop zone. They travel to the Emirates on Sunday lunchtime, followed by home games against Chelsea and Brighton before the season finale at Brentford. Currently, Everton are two points worse off than Leeds but have a game in hand. Recent wins against Manchester Utd and Chelsea have breathed fresh air into Frank Lampard's team, who, three weeks ago looked dead and buried. Their remaining fixtures consist of visits to Leicester, Watford and Arsenal, and home games against Brentford and Crystal Palace. Although ahead of Leeds on goal difference, Burnley are not out of the woods yet. They still have to play Villa twice, travel to Spurs before ending their campaign at home against the Magpies. Who has the easiest run of games? How much of a loss will Stuart Dallas be? If the worst were to happen, will Leeds bounce back up again? please log in to view this image Leeds have a mountain to climb if they are to avoid relegation Former Scottish footballer Frank McAvennie believes Leeds have a mountain to climb if they are to avoid relegation this season. The former Celtic and West Ham star doesn't see Leeds picking up any points against Arsenal or Chelsea, and believes they need maximum points against Brighton and Brentford if they are to avoid the drop:- “It’s a horrible run and it’s right when you don’t want it. “This manager has no experience of this situation but it wasn’t working with Bielsa so the result would probably be the same. I mean, look at Everton and Burnley, Burnley especially are causing a lot of problems. “I’m not sure Leeds will get anything from these games so they might go into the last two games of the season needing six points. “I’m worried for them. I don’t want Leeds to go down because they are great to have in the Premier League but I am worried.” please log in to view this image U23's handed lifeline Andrew Taylor's young Whites have been handed a lifeline after Chelsea failed to capitalise on the first of their two games in hand. They were defeated by Blackburn Rovers during a dramatic game which saw the Lancashire side come back from 3-2 down to win 4-3. Nothing else but a win will save Chelsea from relegation, but they have to defeat bitter rivals Spurs on Sunday (at Chelsea). Should they be victorious, Leeds will be relegated. Leeds concluded their season last week with a 1-1 draw against Arsenal, and are currently two points ahead of their bitter rivals. please log in to view this image
Leeds United Release 11 Exclusive NFTs to Support Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal Why - FFS Worry about the football...................
Not for those of us who've had the immense pleasure of witnessing PL football at ER for the first time in a generation. Whatever happens it's been an absolute joy, although obviously we'd like a little bit more of the big time please. If it's not to be, then so be it, but at least some of our young supporters had this season to remember if we're back in the mad scramble that is the Championship.
In fact why don't we ask the EFL if we can go straight back to L1 so those supporters who only enjoy winning football can be happy. Pathetic really.
I will never enjoy getting trounced by any team. Never have done in past fifty years and glad I never developed that pathetic mentality
Brighton are one of those teams that we should beat, but we don't. But we must. It's going to come down to the final day isn't it?
It's side before self though. When the lads have given their all and are still getting thrashed 4-0 by City as a fan you get behind them try and lift their spirits, or you can get angry and chant 'your not fit to wear the shirt', or maybe start threads saying it's all unacceptable. Choices, choices, choices. For the record every fan at ER on Saturday seemed to enjoy the match, everyone I spoke to after thought we'd played well. Most thought the scoreline flattered City and that Kalvin, Firpo and others who were criticised on here played well.
It's true elland that we have a massive worldwide fanbase. Unfortunately most contribute very little, if anything to the income of the club and we can't spend money we don't have. So in real terms we're no bigger than all the other team with a 30-36,000 capacity stadium of which there are many.
S So how many bought replica shirts and merchandise from the shop. How many fork out for lutv because they can't attend. What about all those false memberships sold making it even harder to buy a ticket. Then we have the waiting list for season tickets for another fee. The promise of a bigger stadium being the false lure. The players and agents suck the money out of the club. The prem is mega funded and yet clubs struggle and become debtors.how much more can people afford to pay out while footballers have no money worries. Best sick pay in the country funded by who?.
K Kalvin tried to be tidy and keep the ball recycled but he offers little in attack. Firpo is a yellow card every game and a liability. He got hooked for a reason.
Rad Rads took a gamble and it's backfired on him. Even if we stay up the damage is done. Either we recruit or fail next season. If marsch fails he will get paid up as did bielsa. Only ones who will suffer are the fans once again.
Everton’s game v Brentford will be shown live directly after our 2pm kick off against Brighton. That’ll be tasty
Like to go back to Saturday, if Joffy had been on the ball instead of Rodrigo in that breakaway he would have scored, the Spaniard is slow. There first goal was Struijk fault, if he steps up when the free kick is taken then City we’re offside, that has to be sorted at TA. Why has it taken all these weeks for JM to play Koch in his best position, still some rollercoaster ride yet, hold tight!!!! Oh and that score flattered City somewhat.
he dropped struijk who had been struggling - and he preferred llorente to koch at CB. So cooper out, llorente out, Koch gets a game at cb and he has to play struijk if he wants a left foot right foot combination. Otherwise could have gone with cresswell instead of struijk… might have got some criticism for chucking him to the lions though.
Brentford & Southampton only have 3 games left and are on 40 points. If...and it's a big if, but if we could somehow get 4 points from our next 3 games it might give us the opportunity to catch one of them.
