On west sham. Man city will absolutely tear them apart. The pair of hee haws at cb were absolutely ran round by arsenal who missed most. Two corners goals though. I cannot see west ham being within 3 goals of city when they play.
Fulham v Luton. Bit controversial this. Luton on the break, guy running with the ball does his hammy when 1v1 with CM out wide, ball runs out of play because he effectively stops. Then is hobbling back onto the pitch, fulham take the throw and pass it around for a minute and half while guy is on the floor and Fulham then go and score. Now I think normally, play on until ref stops the play, but in this case Luton actually has the break and if guy didn’t do his hamstring then could have actually been in with chance to create a chance. Think that’s poor sportsmanship from Fulham. Especially as halfway through the move the ball actually went back to the CB so could have easily stopped it then.
I read once that in Polo the rules used to be the game stops if a player falls off a horse. Then Argentina started to game that rule so if they were not doing well, they would deliberately fall off their horses to stop play. Sometimes several of them would fall off in sync if several of their players got the idea to pause the game. Polo now only stops the game if someone legitimately injured or in danger. I feel like there is so much gaming the system in football these days that being "good sportsmen" nowadays is just playing yourself for a fool. Too many Argentinan polo players in football. It is different when attacking and getting injured of course, but all the faking and simulation has ruined the game for good sportsmanship.
I agree and that’s why I think it’s safest to play on unless you can tell it’s a serious injury. Also feel sorry for refs on when trying to work out if and when should stop play for an injury or if someone is just faking it to get game stopped. Given the guy had thr ball and was attacking and stopped running cos he pulled his hamstring, was obvious to everyone was an injury. In that case, when Fulham didn’t stop and out ball out he should have blown. was obvious he wasn’t just trying to game the system
More sanctions on Russia. Womens been kicked out euro 22 Bids for hosting euro 28 or 32 also not ineligible. No Russian teams in CL, EL or ECL either
Nice height and really it's worked out for him as he just throws himself and the shot is there The push of mina away to celebrate by himself said it all. The one in the mush was just desserts
I thought it was a pretty good save and that he had a good game - but it's a long way from that to the gushing "best save ever" drivel that's been spouted since.
Pretty good is fair. Same as pope two weeks ago? It was there to be saved with a strong hand There's an awful lot of waffle about goal of season or save of season. I read some spurs fans saying son has a contender today. In the end he's reacted well and slid across and almost too far rushing out uncontrolled as usual so get the hand back on it is what is good about it.
Allisons triple save vs Norwich is save of the season shout worthy. Pickfords was OK. https://youtube.com/shorts/hgMDYtwVYcY?feature=share
It's absolute nonsense to be banning sportsmen and women over this conflict. I see its happening with tennis players aswell. Whatever happened to keeping politics out of sport? #doublestandards
Burn all things Russian except their fossil fuels. Frankly they are lucky not to be interned already across Europe. The iron curtain has slammed down
First hamstring is not a serious injury. Second the prime example is richarilson diving holding his head. The fakers ruin it for others. It's this simple. No need to stop a game to get treatment. Have one physio /doctor come on if you like. However I think refs now look at players and check and if they see movement they wave play on so we play on. If a player lies still they stop the game. I think players who them pop up and are ready to go sprint 30s later need to be punished.
When I say serious what I mean is a real injury. It was obviously a real injury as the guy was running away with the ball and breaking clear and stopped running and the ball trickled out of play. Was clear that he wasn’t faking it, or trying to get the game stopped.
even a hamstring as a real injury is not a serious issue. Barring total eriksen type collapse, swallowed tongue, head injury or broken limbs there is nothing that cannot wait 2mins. the cheaters have made the situation where "fair play" is just exploited. As i said is was patently obvious richarilson was faking the first time v us but he held his head and ref had to stop. he wasn't punished so he tried it again. Look at coleman punching azpi in the back two or three times looking for a reaction v chelsea. same tactics again..... what can refs do? imo the only thing they can is play on and the poor fella can wait bless him. you could hand over duty to the 4th official to watch dropped players and have them wave on physio but you know the cheats would run the physio right through the play to get it stopped as well. the short wanswe ris the cheats ruin it for the rest so that particular team had to suffer.
