He’s not a striker though judging his game entirely on goals is stupid. Only 1 winger with more goals than him in the league and that’s Brennan Johnson but he’s played as a striker anyway.
We have, on occasions, when chasing a game, played KLP more centrally, but he was probably less effective than when played wide.
Well what can you judge him on then? He doesn't create, he's only got 9 assists in over 110 league appearances for us. I thought judging him on goals was kind.

Used minimum appearances of 10 to weed out players who haven't played and used per 90 mins He's ranked 98th in the league for shots on target per game, Eaves and Tyler Smith, both ahead. 48th for shots off target. The worry is that for shots off target, Forrs, Moncur, Wilks and Eaves all top 30. Eaves is 7th. Key passes he's 127th, Honeyman, Fleming and Moncur are well ahead. To emphasise his crossing for a winger, he's 143rd for chances created via a cross. Fleming, Honeyman, Elder, Coyle, Moncur and even Slater are ahead of him. 74th for successful dribbles He does rank well in terms of looking after the ball. Eaves, unsurprisingly does not. Last one, 90th in terms of goals per 90 mins. I tried to look at a range relative to a winger, and he doesn't come out particularly well on anything apart from goals.
You need to get with the programme Kemps - the ''experts'' have been pored over his stats with a fine toothcomb, every move, misplaced pass, shrug of the shoulders has been scientifically analysed; the verdict from our expert bunch is in, bottom line - KLP's ****ing ****, not worth a penny and **** knows what SA is thinking playing him every minute of every match.
If you can quote a single post that says KLP is a **** player, then go ahead. But you can't because no-one has said that. All that some people are saying, is that he's not as good as some are saying and we would be wise to take the money and spend it on strengthening the team. But apparently that's heresy and it's time to construct a huge wicker tiger for all the heretics. Christ on a bike, it's no wonder people give up on this forum.

I know mate, I shouldn't, and don't usually, comment on these threads but **** me, some of the character assassination is terrible. It's back to music and joke threads on here for me. I'll stick to football chat with mates in the pub.
Our comments on KLP during the game came just after he chased down some burley ****er & put him on his arse with a good solid shoulder. Obvs my pre-match comment that “he needs some gym time to bulk up” made me look a ****. McLoughlin‘s Zidane turn follwed by a clever nutmeg also raised a smile & a brief discussion. Apart from that …
Character assassination, don't make me laugh! Every single person that's discussed KLP over the last few days/weeks ( on a football discussion forum btw ) has said that he's a good player with huge potential. Should it just stop there and not talk about the huge negative side of his game just because he's a local lad? It's not as if what's being discussed isn't true or and biased one sided attack. His on the field attitude is very poor at times and it has the potential to really hold him back, so why shouldn't it be discussed? But hey let's just have music and joke threads on a football forum because some people don't like open discussion about our football players.
