I think Saints could still get sucked into the relgation battle. If Burnley and Everton start picking up points, there will be some nervous people on this thread. It will be interesting to see how people react to Ralph is this is the case. One more point would see us safe but I think it is possible. Hoping I can enjoy my trip to British museum on 22nd without experiencing relegation.

I was surprised that the commentators didn't mention it at the time (or at least I didn't hear them mention it). It's not like he did it off camera. The camera was focused on him the whole time.

You get booked for removing your shirt ……throwing a flare back into the stand ? Definitely a ban coming up.

They won’t because of where Everton are in the league and the possible repercussions of Richarlison not playing. The FA will bottle it

We will have to agree to disagree, …….watched by millions? Can’t have anything (let alone a flare) be thrown into the crowd.

I don’t disagree with your point, and agree it is definitely a bannable offence. But with Richarlison banned and DCL awaiting his transfer to the Arsenal womens team that would leave only Rondon left and I don’t think the FA have the balls to do that. Unfair on Leeds/Burnley if one of them goes down and Richarlison scores the goals that keeps Everton up but I think the FA will want to stay out of it as much as they can

    From the BBC

“Richarlison celebrated before throwing the device - lobbed on to the pitch from the Gwladys Street End - into an area where there were no fans.”

Why do footballers stick out their tongues when celebrating a goal?

Is anyone else looking at the Burnley, Everton, Leeds fixtures and counting up the possible points to see if it gets anywhere near 40? No, just me then. I’ve been telling my Toon mate for half a season that there’s always one team that plummets into the bottom three at the end of the season. I was jokingly saying it could be Saints, but now it’s very likely. As badly as the other three were playing, they all seem to be finding something extra now. Saints just don’t have that.

“Think” we’ll be ok but certainly starting to do extra maths at moment. Awful run of results & performances. I can’t get Arsenal out of my thoughts. We got away with one that day & without we’d truly be in the proverbial. RH & players really need to step up to the plate in the last few games.

For anyone who is worried, you might want to cheer on Leicester in their SF this week.

The final is three days after we play them. If they're in that final, they'll rest most of their team against us.

Let's hope Arsenal and Brentford are playing well (mostly - not Brentford against us, obvs) bc they both play both Leeds and Everton. Also, Villa, who have two games against Burnley.

Know he wasn't exactly the most popular person on here but there's some very sad news regarding our old friend Tobes on the PL board and some may wish to pay it a visit.

Reading this my opinion on Richarlison has changed a bit - I suppose we seem to forget that all footballers come from varied backgrounds and although they have a persona on the pitch, there probably is a nice person in there.

Yes I agree. Interesting insight. Just a shame that he alienates people when he’s diving around on the pitch.
