Much, much better second half, coincidently when Lucas went off and Kulusevski came on. Romero MOTM, 10/10 defensive performance and didn’t deserve losing his clean sheet bonus at the death thanks to crab’s failure to close down and Lloris being too complacent with the dive. Bentancur also very, very good, as was Kulusevski, all three “Juve Alumni” the standouts. Son’s second was lovely. Contrary to some other opinions, I thought the ref got all big calls correct. No pens (as nice as they would’ve been to get) and yellow was correct call for Amartey, bad challenge but not red worthy for me.
Moura went down early in the 2nd half on the corner of the box (about 2 yards outside) ... looked a nailed on free kick...was it? The ref played on but it looked a bad decision.
The commentators said there was no contact and that Lucas tripped over himself (which after the performance he put in wouldn’t have surprised many), the camera angles we got to see were inconclusive, I initially thought he got clipped but the contact would’ve been very, very minimal to be fair, if there was any. All in all I think Moss had a good game, I don’t generally comment on refs anyway but I know it’s quite a big topic for some and today I thought he got the big calls correct, even if that did come as somewhat of an annoyance to us, a penalty or two plus a red card for them would’ve been nice lol.
Watched the replay for Sonnys 2nd PEH is standing right behind Son and just stands there with his hands on his head as it sails in , you do that at times of pure genius
Just on way home. Thought they were really good today, even in the first half when it just missing the final ball. If arsenal win today then we need to beat Liverpool as only points arsenal might drop will be against us but won’t be enough.
Conte on Bergwijn: "It's difficult to keep him on the bench because maybe Steven is the player who deserves more but we must keep balance. He's a striker, but there's Harry, Sonny and Deki gives us quality and quantity. But maybe with Steven I'm giving him less than he deserves." I’m mostly very happy with the work Conte’s done but he keeps saying this about Bergwijn and it’s starting to sound really stupid now. He just started Lucas over him today when it would’ve been an opportune time to start Bergwijn if Kulusevski was to be benched. Lucas is a great guy and good for cups and lower tier European games but the obsession the gaffer seemingly has with choosing Lucas as his main sub/ first stand-in is baffling to me.
