It's been an awful match in terms of quality and chances. But the way that both sides are getting stuck in, almost like a derby match, is more than making up for that.
Somehow the quality has managed to get even worse. Neither side can string three passes together. And yet it's still a great watch, because a red card feels like it's only ever one more tackle away.
Yeah, similar to when they sold Wood and everyone was like “they’re ****ed now lolz”. I went on one of their forums and they were glad to be rid of him as the style wasn’t working this year and would’ve ended in their relegation. Similar to Bielsa at Leeds I guess, was just time to move on
I think Burnley have been lucky at how good they've been under the caretaker management. Normally when you sack a manager this close to the end of the season you have someone lined up to replace them. Now they shouldn't make any changes until the end of the season.
From what I was reading on their forum the basic jist was that they’re better players (Cornet and McNeill) were being bypassed by the style of play and would do better under a new manager. “do better” may still have meant relegation, but they needed to roll the dice if they wanted to survive. I also went and had a look after they’d sold wood and they were, in the main, very happy and thought he had been ****e for ages and hampered they’re play. I guess nobody cares about them (like us) so if you asked the average fan who Burnley’s best players were I’m sure Mee, Tarkowski and Wood would have been popular answers, apparently they’ve all been **** for awhile but nobody has noticed because Burnley
Amazing to think that Burnley might only need one more win; two at the very, very most. Far from guaranteed that Leeds will be able to reach 38 points (which due to their inferior GD is the minimum they would need if Burnley get one more win), let alone factoring in the points haul that Everton would need too.
And definitely Leeds are now in the proverbial. With Everton vs Leicester & Brentford they might get points. Can’t see Leeds getting any, maybe 1. Going to wire & if I had a tenner, I think Everton might just make it (hope not tho).
Chelsea are going to blow this, if they don’t calm the feck down and stop getting drawn into niggly confrontations. Everton are doing everything they can to trigger reactions in the hope of a red card.
We're going to stay up by our finger nails at this rate. Leeds are now my massive favourites to go down.
