The "desperate gammon press" is the Lefty Loony racist founded Grauniad, pure and simple, with the emphasis on simple. Raging at everything in the world.
I thought being opposed to self defence was a general policy of the French. Look how quickly they opted not to defend themselves back in 1940. That is why we think of them as garlic crunching surrender monkeys. The report states that the farmer fired two shots. He needs to get in some practise if he only managed to hit one burglar out of four. When there is a fox in his henhouse it will run a lot quicker and he won’t manage a hit. That said, one hit out of two might get him in the French Olympic shooting team. If Macron gets his EU Army, the Russians will be in Paris in time for lunch the day it comes into service. We should offer the farmer the opportunity to farm on the Kent coast near Dover. Anybody coming onto his land from a dinghy or an RNLI lifeboat is fair game.
I have no idea why the San Francisco Chronicle is running a story about Eurozone inflation; however, as usual this is the use of dodgy statistics by the ECB to paint a false image. Inflation in those centres of massive population like Malta (4.5 per cent), Finland (5.8 per cent), Denmark (6 per cent), Slovenia (6 per cent) and Cyprus (6.2 per cent) being used to disguise Germany (7.6 per cent) and Spain (9.8 per cent). Of the big nations only France (5.1 per cent), where Macron has capped energy prices, is below the Eurozone “average”, which Statista has at 7.8 per cent for March.
Karl Turner may have previous history for abuse of Parliamentary privilege but I do not think that asking questions on behalf of his wife’s legal business actually makes him a stone cold liar. It does make him a failed lawyer. Being the MP for East Hull after Two Jags does make him fair game for throwing rotten fruit at and starting fights in the street.
The World’s Richest Man according to Forbes, who allow wealth to include debt on borrowing; and the internet is “worldwide” except where censored by regimes, so all social media platforms are worldwide. As Twitter only attracts around 436 million visits per month compared to over 2.9 billion for Facebook, Statista only rank it the fifteenth largest social media platform behind the likes of WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok.
“I don’t care about the economics at all.” So said Elon Musk of his proposed buyout of Twitter. Musk offered to buyout the social media platform at a premium of 38 per cent on its listed market price. This does not seem a very rational thing to do – pay nearly two fifths more than a company is deemed to be worth. Twitter can hardly be claimed to be a big money spinner and a sizeable chunk of the $44bn offer is borrowed money from Morgan Stanley and loans secured against Tesla. Musk has history. His Tesla car business bought millions of dollars of Bitcoin, effectively making Tesla shareholders proxy owners of the Bitcoin. His act of doing this saw the value of Bitcoin rise sharply; however, it quickly fell back and the Tesla Bitcoin holding was trading at a loss. The company did sell some of its holding at a profit but why does a car maker need to hold cryptocurrencies? So that quote by Musk about Musk appears to be quite a truthful admission. He is a worse sort of narcissist than Trump.
There is a restaurant on Trinity Square in Hull that closed last year citing staff shortage as the reason. Previously it had a plentiful supply of young Europeans, doubtless on minimum wage, but they all went home to Europe when the pandemic came along. Now said establishment is reopening under a new name after a quick refit. I expect that the staff will be young Hulliegullies on minimum wage. I am sure that I recall the Marxists that run Hull City Council regularly boasting about how they were turning the city into a high wage, high skill jobs economy. I remember them turning away one of the big banks when they wanted to open a call centre in Hull’s “World Trade Center” because it was not the sort of job they were looking to attract. When will the Left ever learn that their ideological fantasies are unworkable? Hull is a dead end city going nowhere with a history of low skill blue collar jobs. What Hull needs are the type of jobs that its people are capable of doing not Marxist pipedreams.
